The Flagship certainly earned that banner. For decades, UNC institutionalized rampant academic fraud that kept its star athletes eligible — all thoroughly documented. In August 2015, within hours of the deadline to respond to the NCAA’s first (May 2015) NOA, UNC self-reported additional violations, simply a tactic to delay any potential punishment that would have […]

Let the Hate Flow – U*NC Open Thread
I spent all day yesterday, and part of the day before, cooking. Then my extended family invaded the house, ate all my food, and left the house a complete and total shambles. But before they all left, one of my nephews, who was brought to MY house wearing a Carolina shirt, was pulled aside and […]

Time’s running out for Wolfpack Baseball (32-17, 13-12 ACC) to distinguish themselves as one of the top 8 teams in the nation as the Pack took it on the chin this past weekend at Louisville. When the dust settled, the Cards had not only swept the Pack, but also limited State to 3 runs in […]

But following last spring’s epic 18 inning duel in the ACC Tournament, closely followed by the teams splitting two contests in the CWS in Omaha, college baseball seemed to […]
Wolfpack Baseball’s season ends in Omaha.
Wolfpack Baseball’s 2013 season came to an inauspicious end last night when the Pack fell for the second straight game in Omaha, this time to a familiar foe. Carolina breaks a close game open with four runs in 8th inning and ends up shutting the Pack out 7-0. Incidentally, it was the first time this […]

Top Ten Showdown in Raleigh – U*NC-CH Weekend Preview
Yep, those jackasses from the west come to town this weekend for a pivotal three game conference series at Doak Field. I’m gonna try my best to be unbiased with this preview and not get overly “hateful”, but no promises. There are few things in life I dislike more than that hallowed (or is it […]
State Football Stat of the Day
Last week I laid out State’s roadmap to Charlotte on December 4th. Today, I’ll add this one: Beat Carolina a fifth consecutive year. In the 116-year history of the rivalry (100 games), State has only beaten Carolina five consecutive seasons exactly once: Dick Sheridan won five straight between 1988-92.
