Although I did not watch today’s North Carolina-Washington NCAA Tournament second round game, I followed it on my phone. Just by checking scores, the general trend of the game appeared to be one where Washington seemed to be in more ‘control’ throughout the afternoon as each hit of ‘refresh’ generated information where the Huskies were […]

What Sidney Should Have Done Last Night
Thanks to Tim Floyd and his trip to Greenville. Love the jackass in the Duke sweatshirt on the front row at ECU. So many jokes. So little time.
The Call, The Review, The Shaft
ACC officiating coordinator Doug Rhoads said today that Ron Cherry’s officiating crew handled the spot of the ball correctly on a key fourth-down play during the final minute of Maryland’s 38-31 defeat of N.C. State on Saturday. The officials gave Adams what appeared to be a generous spot of the ball, and coach Tom O’Brien […]
Carolina’s sad escape
I guess it is just a day for videos. We opened an entry on the message boards last night after Carolina received multiple gifts from the three blind officials on the floor of Madison Square Garden to allow them to advance to the NIT Championship. I particularly liked Dr. BadgerPack’s comments: So the NCAA should […]
Roy Williams suddenly concerned about fouls AFTER Hansbrough graduates
Oh my God. I am honestly SO FLABBERGASTED by this that I cannot even begin to compose this blog entry for fear that my head will explode. This will be one of the most disjointed blog posts you will ever read on SFN as I cannot think straight right now. Just keep going and bear […]
Officials incorrectly hand Arizona win over Lipscomb
I look so forward to the day that NC State can garner the kind of home court officiating advantage that can literally displace time and space. Check out the following video of the ending of last night’s squeaker in Tucson, Arizona. When I watched the video at live speed and then in slow motion it […]
Tracy Smith Suspended for Arizona Game (Updated at 2:15pm)
Jesus. Right before one of our ‘defining’ games for the season. Obviously, Smith should have just called the refs a bunch of GD MutherF’ers right on the court during the game so that he could be afforded the same flexibility that Coach K and Gary Williams receive on a nightly basis. Link to Wolfpacker RALEIGH, […]
NCAA Tournament Teams That Get All The Calls – Carolina, Connecticut and Chattanooga?
During our ACC Tournament viewing party, the subject came up of how much more North Carolina goes to the free throw line than their opponents. One of the excuses we had always heard was that their talent level discrepancy leads to the free throw discrepancy (and absolutely nothing to do with biased officiating…) This led us to wonder about a team like Memphis that utterly dominates Conference USA and is head and shoulders above the rest of the league, what sort of free throw advantage do they have?
Welcome to the ACC, Virginia Tech (Part II)
One of our most viewed entries of the weekend was this vibrant entry welcoming our land grant bretheren of Virginia Tech into the Atlantic Coast Conference’s landscape. We therefore send you on a quick journey to VPI’s Gobbler Country Blog to witness the evolutionary experience of a fan into the real world. I thought that […]
ACCT Open Thread – Welcome to the ACC, Virginia Tech
N&O’s Joe Giglio: UNC finished the game with 21 attempts from the free-throw line (hitting 15), while VT finished 8 of 11. It’s not like VT took a ton of 3s and the totals were skewed by shot selection. UNC and VT each took 19 3s. And don’t confuse me here, I’m not saying UNC […]
