Barry Saunders’ finest continues to build his ‘resume’

It’s been more than a year since One of SFN’s favorite villains has done something at which we could laugh and/or ridicule. But, some people simply cannot make good decisions and stay out of trouble….and, boy are we thankful!!

Good to see Weslye Saunders hasn’t lost his touch! First, you need to click on this link for a quick review of the last time that Wonderful Wes graced our pages (almost one year ago to the day!)

Weslye Saunders came out of South Carolina last year with the reputation for off-field concerns to go along with his considerable talent.

That’s a large reason why he went undrafted, but his talent was great enough to make the Steelers. He played in 16 games as a rookie, but he won’t play in that many next year.

Aaron Wilson of Scout.com reports the NFL suspended Saunders four games for an undisclosed violation.

Saunders only caught four passes last year, mostly helping on special teams.

Why do I get the feeling that somehow this issue is someone else’s fault?

Since when does the NFL suspend players for “undisclosed violations”?

still no word out of Indianapolis? My rear end is getting sore from sitting on all these pins and needles!!! I am waiting!!! How long does it take??? The longer it takes the worse it is or maybe it is a sign that those in power can’t agree what the punishment should be and they will get a light punishment.
As a lawyer I was told if the jury comes back real quick it is a bad sign. If they take days to deliberate, then there is a chance the defendant will catch a break. For me none of this wisdom ever panned out.

Barry Saunders is about and always has been about one thing and one thing only- R A C E.

    Garbage in, garbage out.

“still no word out of Indianapolis? … How long does it take???”

Long enough for it to blow over.

BS is a race-baiter ala Jackson, Sharpton, et al. I think every paper has one to whip up subscriptions.

A one trick pony that has lost its credibility and relevance. He is kept only as a token.

Not only will Saunders not play 16 games for the Steelers but I am willing to say he won’t play for the Steelers. The front office for the Steelers is well known for getting rid of trouble makers. Think Plaxico Burres, Santana Moss, etc., and he is nowhere near as good as those guys. He may as well pack his bags as he will not be living in Pittsburgh much longer

With UNC alum on NCAA staff, no way they were going to release anything before signing day and hurt UNC’s chances of recruiting.

    “Think Plaxico Burres, Santana Moss,etc.,”

I think you meant Santonio Holmes, Santana Moss has been a pro’s pro for nearing a decade now.

As for Saunders, that is vaguely reminiscent of substance abuse penalties isn’t it? Since he had that issue in Columbia, wouldn’t shock me. As far as Pops Saunders goes, he rarely says anything of import, so I don’t really have an opinion…….yeah right. I don’t know if he’s a race baiter as much as an arrogant wolfpack hater.

    He’s a race baiter.

I don’t read the N&O opinions and I have no idea why anybody does. As for Saunders, I like his hat and that’s about all I have to say about that.

I’m not sure why his name keeps popping up on this blog. I thought this is about NC State sports? And aren’t we just giving him the satisfaction by continuing to talk about him and his worthless son?

    Just a thought.

I hope it’s tied to the UNC stuff (wishful thinking I know)…didn’t the NfL recently impose a suspension on guys coming out of OSU who didn’t serve their punishment there? Or am I crazy and making up things again?

Smoke em if ya got em. Or perhaps in young Wesley’s case, snort it?

Didn’t Ray Liotta get his blow from Pittsburgh in the film ‘GoodFellas’?

Living outside Philly and learning about the problems Andy Reid’s sons went through, I do think kids do things their parents did not raise them to do.

Anyway, if Wes is strung out hope he gets into a good rehab program. It’s worth checking your feelings for a parents professional work at the door, if their kids are in trouble because I doubt the parents were handing him drugs, when he was growing up.

Yea, Ya’ll look real stupid now. So you are laughing because he got caught treating his ADD and it just so happened that what he used had Adderall in it which is on the banned list for the NFL.

So it wasn’t PEDs (performance enhancing drugs), it wasn’t Weed or other drugs but some random substance that was in a medicine to treat ADD (Attention Deficit Disorder).

Hardly anything nefarious. Can ya’ll please grow up?

  16. highstick 02/09/2012 at 5:48 PM #

ADD…yea, right…You can’t treat DUMB! And he inherited from his old man!

    A Dumb Dickhead!

Wesley’s story is more interesting than Barry’s opinion articles!

I guess you believe what you want to believe, even when its wrong. I don’t like some things that his Dad has written but that doesn’t mean I’m going to make something out of nothing, I wouldn’t be surprised if he won his appeal and was eligible for all 16 games in the NFL.
