WRAL’s Jeff Gravely is reporting via Twitter that Elliot Avent has finally been rewarded for his College World Series appearance with a 5-year contract that is waiting on board approval.

This is great news for State fans and the State baseball program. Elliot Avent has been a great coach for State bringing the baseball team consistently into the post season and finally getting that break-through into the CWS. Â Avent is a State guy through and through and even though he has flirted with other job openings, Auburn most recently, there was much doubt in my mind that Yow would get this deal done.
