Why the hell is this game the Raycom 12noon game? Question: When was the last time State/Carolina game was played @ night?

Well, at least we can get the game over early in the day win or lose…

Sure hope we don’t blow this one. I’d rather lose half a dozen times to the irate pie-rates than once to the tarholes.

Well this set up sucks. This will be a computer only game for me on a day when I have a half marathon scheduled that has dubious logistics surrounding it.

Last night game was the finish of the TA fumble game in CH in 2004. That one was on some local Payperview in the triangle area. Before that you have to go back to the second Charlotte game of 1999 on a Thurs. nite or the 1997 game against Mack Brown in Raleigh that was played during the fair. Seems like we lost that one something like 24-7 with Barnette and Tremayne Stephens.

If offence plays like it did in Greenville or Death Valley, UNC will clean our clock. They looked really sharp on offence Saturday. We gotta right the ship or Wake will be a dogfight. And if wake gives us a game….watch out.

Oh how I loathe the Raycom commentators! If one were so inclined as to create a drinking game where a shot was taken each time the commentators repeated themselves e.g. “Clemson hasn’t scored an offensive td in seven quarters,” or screwed up a player’s name, one would be quite hammered by halftime.

I don’t know if that FSU game was an aberration for Dwight Jones and Yates or what, but they haven’t thrown down the field like that all season. We’ll see what they do with VT this weekend and have a better idea for what to expect. You can bet that FSU did not game plan for that type of attack in the air.

Baxter, Yates has been really good this year. He has thrown the ball all over the field. If we don’t get pressure UNC will eat us alive.

    Damn, I hate noon games.

Who’s ready for some parking deck tailgating!!!!

Tis true. But if we can get offense back on track, Charlotte here we come!

    Red Rider, I agree –

Those Raycom morons drove me crazy Saturday… Lost count of how many times they referenced Clemson instead of NC State or vice versa. It’s like watching the ESPN audition show, whatever that was called, where broadcaster wannabees go for their 15 minutes of fame !

i ain’t watchin it, I am done, even if we somehow stumble into the acc champ game I can’t watch these wimpy calls and RW heaving the ball down field into double coverage with downs, timeouts, and time all left. AIN”T GONNA DO IT.

Actually last years game was on ESPN2, although it was at noon as well…otherwise its been on ACC Network/Raycom/Lincoln Financial/Jefferson Pilot Sports since 2005. Outside of when Tim Brandt calls the games, I dont understand all the hate for Raycom. They actually cover the game they are broadcasting, rather than use it as pretty pictures while they debate who should be #1 in the BCS like some other networks. Plus the picture quality is phenomenal, particularly when compared to the garbage ESPN puts out. Ill take a Raycom broadcast anyday of the week over ESPN.

97, I’ve actually been to every home UNC game except the ECU game this year, and have watched the others on TV with several hardcore, astute UNC fans. This game 100% was not TJ’s usual game. He’s been a manager this year, but this was the first situation where they let him unload on a defense down field in an aggressive manner. If by thrown the ball all over the field you mean checked down to his TE and RB this year, then yes. The VT game will be a good indicator to what they will continue to do, but by no means has he played FSU worthy outside of that game. LSU was two obscene catches for nearly 200 yards, UVA, and FSU are the only games over 238 yards, and the other games were 209 (GT), 204 (Rut), 181(ECU), 164 (CU), 140 (UM), 238 (W&M).

My platonic best friend is a Hole grad and fan, and we were supposed to go to this game together. Unfortunately, she had trouble getting a reasonable flight that weekend (she lives in SF), so she had to bail.

I’m now thinking that was good karma, given how mad I expect this game to make me. Probably deleterious to the friendship, especially how silly womenfolk tend to find sports-induced rage. At least it will be over in time for me to cleanse my palate with the SEC game of the week.

When we talk announcer quality, that’s the only group that’s consistently good – CBS’ #1 crew. Even without Gus Johnson. Pure!

BJD95, maybe you should go out there to SF instead and enjoy one of those Zen retreats : ) (and I mean that in the most friendly and constructive way possible)

I would like to say hello. I have been reading for years and have finally given enough effort to be able to post. I consider the SFN writers to be insightful and insiteful. I mean like intelligent and bipolar. So, put away the rope and razors until Saturday. Moreover,
the coverage of the Carolina Way debacle has been priceless and deserves an blog pulitzer.

we traditionally NEVER play well noon games especially away ones…it looks like our team is still on the bus or back in the bed…god i remember that wake game not long ago in WS..noon kick..and we looked like we were in slow-mo….and of course the noon kick at ECU this year ..same thing..sloooooooww lethargic poor offense
we MUST get pressure on Yates…if Archer/Tenuta don’t recognize this is the entire key to the game, then we are doomed….Yates is not a great QB at all under pressure…unless we mix alot of stunts and blitzes in to keep Yates wondering where his next hit will come from then lord ha mercy…
the good thing is that their RBs are depleted and banged up…but of course that was the scenario at Clemson too and we see how that helped…

    noon games!
reminds me of scrambled eggs and bacon on the grill with ice cold beer!
    breakfast of the champions

Anyway, while the timing sucks I hope the game does not. Could someone send a drill sergeant to TOB to remind him why he is here?

I would rather play UNC on the road at noon. We have won the last 3 UNC games at noon including a huge victory 2 years ago. UNC fans hate noon games and not as loud as they are when it’s at 3:30 or at night. We played well at GT and BC at noon this year. I think we will see performances like that and not ECU or Clemson. Keeping the faith.
