Good Morning and happy game day!
Today is perhaps the biggest game NC State football has played in four or five years. Please visit this entry to see AlphaWolf’s fantastic pregame analysis and the great discussion that follows.
For those of you who have made the trip down to Atlanta for the game, thanks for supporting our team and pull the Pack through. Our own Daily Update is there and might upload some stadium pictures if possible.
The game versus Georgia Tech is on ESPN at noon for anyone who might not already know.
More importantly, if you’re in the Raleigh area please consider heading out to Hillsborough Street for the grand opening celebration! Here is a link discussing the festivities running from noon until 6 pm. You can learn more on Facebook here.
The game will be shown on a huge screen, several bands will be performing, there will be kid-friendly entertainment, and something for the adults as well. Apparently open containers are only allowed in the Beer Garden, so be warned.
I, for one, will be watching the game at The Player’s Retreat. At the risk of ruining an awesome game watching experience by bragging about it on the internet, if you haven’t visited the PR since Gus took over you should do so soon. It’s the same old PR with all it’s historical charm, but with some modern amenities such as big screen televisions both inside and out. Visit the PR here.
Let’s not underestimate the meaning of this festival and potentially awesome game day atmosphere on our very own and newly renovated Hillsborough Street. This is the sort of thing that makes college cool and reconnects alumni and townspeople with the University. This is EXACTLY the sort of thing N.C. State needs to do to continue the momentum of what has become something of a renaissance of the school’s image.
Come out and cheer on the Pack!!!
