Here’s a free audio link of the UNO play-by-play, and the game is on Pack Pass as well.

0:14.1 64-59 Gonzalez to the line for two.  First shot: good.  Second shot: no good.

0:29.3 Costner — First shot: good.  63-57.  Second shot: good 64-57

0:29.3 left, 62-57 State to the line for two.  These could ice it.  TO UNO

1:10 60-55, State ball.  McCauley fouled on the shot. First shot, swish. Second shot, good.  62-55 60 ticks left.

1:46 State ball, State timeout, 60-55.

2:07 McCauley to the line, makes the first, then misses the second, but State keeps the ball.  60 – 55.

2:26 State 59 – UNO 55.

3:02 59 – 53 State, UNO ball after a turnover.

7:57 Still 48-40 State.  State’s D is forcing UNO to take contested shots and the Pack is still outrebounding the Privateers.  The UNO network is really griping about the refereeing, but that seems to be the way it is on every radio network.  At least their play by play guy tells the score and time, something Gary Hahn ought to learn how to do.

9:16 State 48 – UNO 40 – State takes a :30 TO, UNO to line for 1 and 1.

10:22 State 48 – UNO 38

PACK IS IN THE BONUS the rest of the way.

11:49 NCSU 44 – UNO 38 — State is letting these guys hang around, but UNO has five team fouls and isn’t hitting everything they see anymore.

15:49 NCSU 35- UNO 33 — UNO is coming back to Earth a little, but NCSU is missing their share.

18:30 NCSU 33 – UNO 31

Fells is having a crappy game, IMO.  19:30 he’s called for palming after State has a chance to take the lead.  Then Trevor Ferguson backs it up with a foul.

HALFTIME NCSU 31- UNO 31

1:14 UNO 31 – NCSU 29

State is 9-23 and Costner has 13.

It’s wierd hearing the game being played on Corchiani Court, and UNO’s announcers are talking about it being a “special night.”

    UNO doesn’t sound great, so hopefully we’ll start getting some transition buckets and heat up a little … I expect that we will, but it’s not going well right now – 17-10 UNO

    Also, I appreciate the effort that the stand-in play-by-play guy is giving on the radio, but I’ll never make fun of Gary “Check It” Hahn again … Gary is worlds better at basketball play than this guy … You’re not even sure when a shot goes up with this guy calling the game

    This sounds like a game between two very sloppy teams…typical first game stuff, but I am already concerned by the lack of defensive intensity.

    And our PG play … sucks.

    I am watching the game on packpass. State looks terrible. We’re sagging off on defense. The offense looks disorganized. We’re being outhustled in every phase of the game. Degand was just called for a 5-second count. How gri. 22-20 UNO

    State is now hitting threes. McCauley just had it inside and rather than go up and challenge, he kicked it back out, he had a dunk if he wanted it.

    Very nice backdoor cut to Fells. UNO is killing us with the three. They are scoring from everywhere on the court. Nice entry pass to Costner. We look sluggish and poorly coached.

    McCauley is truly absent, Costner is not rebounding, Tracy Smith has been more aggressive than both of them put together.

    We seem to be shooting a little better but our D is still terrible. The video camera operators are horrible on pack pass. Its hard to see where the ball is.

    Anyway, our D is lazy and they are hitting their open shots. The whole problem here is our lack of intensity. Everyone seems to be standing around a lot on offense and falling asleep on defense. i know this is the first game of the year but if we don’t get our acts together its going to be a very long year.

    Costner sounds to be playing pretty well … I’ve heard him credited with a couple of nice defensive plays and he’s hit a couple of 3’s

    31-29 UNO. State showed some hustle for a minute there. McCauley deflected a pass, which led to a break and no score, 31-31 at the half, nice last second score by McCauley. State took it from one end to the other in 1-2 seconds, McCauley threw up a lean from 6-8 feet out, banked in.

    ok, tied it up at halftime after what sounded to be a terrible first half! … Now, I know we can play better than this! Come on Pack! Wake up and let’s get the season started on a good note!

    Halftime. 31-31.

    We’ve come out of a scoring funk and finished the half with a nice defensive play and transition basket to tie it. But we’ve got to up the intensity and put them away in the 2nd half. We’ve got to step it up on D. They’ve gotten a lot of easy baskets.
    Costner is playing pretty well. He’s hit some big shots to get us back in it. McCauley needs to step up his D. He’s getting handled inside.

    Hopefully the pack can adjust at halftime and come out swinging.

    Is anybody else watching this?

    I have been put on a money diet. The wife is in advertising and is having all kinds of client issues due to the recession. She’s in squirreling mode just in case, and I don’t blame her.

    I’ll take worse. I bet he’s a practice wonder because he deserves to be picking pine needles out of his ass after the games from sitting on the bench.

    We have got to work it inside! We have to be quick inside and get to the basket, then we can beat them at the line.
