You want to have some fun?
Take a look at this link and add “NC State” to the guy who is ranked#2…right after the #1 on the list that also has NC State as his college choice!!!
On the heels of this great news for our basketball program, NC State’s Football program got into the groove in a big way as Tom O’Brien added his 4th commitment from the State of North Carolina’s 15 best high school players.
Despite some malevolent behavior by some members of the UNC-CH football staff and local Scotland County Tarheel boosters, one of the nation’s top linebackers chose to run with the Pack today when Terrell Manning made his commitment to NC State public at a 1pm press conference in Scotland County. Manning will join Dwayne Maddox – another of the state’s top LB prospects – in helping bolster a Wolfpack linebacking corp that was already thin before last week’s announcement that the highly-talented Avery Vogt was leaving the program.
Pack Pride says, “Manning is rated the No. 2 player in the state of North Carolina by Scout.com. The network has also tabbed Manning a four-star prospect, the nation’s No. 6 weakside linebacker prospect, and the No. 85 player overall in the class of 2008. ”
Manning’s commitment will most certainly vault NC State into a position on most recruiting services list of CURRENT Top 20 recruiting classes, joining a list of impressive – and growing – 4-star and 5-star commitments like Mike Glennon and Brandon Barnes.
Not to get lost in the shuffle, NC State announced our SEVENTH consecutive sellout of football season tickets with a record number of 38,200 tickets today.
“The dedication of the Wolfpack nation has been obvious to me since my first day on the job,” said first-year NCSU coach Tom O’Brien. “I’m looking forward to standing on the home sideline in a packed Carter-Finley Stadium this season.”
I guess the next barometer of the bright future for Tom O’Brien in Raleigh will be offensive line recruiting! As I look at this list I see two offensive linemen in the Top 15 who both still list NC State amongst their potential college choices!!
