I had considered commenting on that but thought better of it. Oh what the heck… considering when that particular line of thought started would that be sex with a minor?

YogiNCParticipantTalk about juvenile digression! Good catch on the pun Mc.

YogiNCParticipantKILL the QB!
Drop him in his tracks. Stob him! Make him eat dirt! Pull a Sir Charles, ala 92 Olympics, and step on him when he’s down. Make him cry for his mommie! Make him go to the sidelines cryin’ not to go back in.

YogiNCParticipantrye, there were more than a few times that it looked to me like the orange DB got there before the ball, and not one PI call. And yes, I’ve thought many times with the rule that you only get 15 for PI that if the receiver gets away from you then grab him and hang on. Let that happen a couple of dozen times to swoff’s darlings and he’d be crying murder to the rules committee and we’d have two types of PI, the incidental and the deliberate and that would open a can of worms 10 times bigger than the celebration rule (which I think is TOTALLY STUPID). Keep the taunting but ease up on the celebration and let the guys celebrate, but that’s just me.

YogiNCParticipantI understand what you’re saying rye BUT.. one of the booth reviews effectively created a turnover. Instead of a first down and retaining the ball on a drive we had to punt it away. Lump that in with other questionable calls and we have yet another game with the refs thumb on the scales. Just sayin’. It wasn’t the sum of the game but considering 7 point differential it could have gone the other way. Momentum is everything in a close game and that had a very negative effect (see pick 6 that should have been flagged for offsides against ND).

YogiNCParticipantClempson is Carolina Blue in Orange and has Johnny Swofford’s nads mounted near the rock where they squeeze on them…
This ^2. Swofford is only about what team is the cash cow. And you can bet that’s why the NCAA did nothing to the holes. And conspiracy theory or not Johnny controls that replay booth. And that bunch controls the game. I’d bet good money he’s had input more than once in that booth in all 3 of our loses. Just one more reason little Johnny needs to go. Excuse me while I hang up my tin foil hat.

YogiNCParticipantSorry Mc but you are wrong. Flat out. per the NCAA rule book on instant replays:
When To Stop a Game
ARTICLE 2. a. A game may be stopped, either by the replay official or by a
head coach’s challenge, at any time before the ball is next legally put in play. The ball had been put into play (snapped BEFORE the whistle). At that point the inadvertant whistle rule should have taken precedence, the ball reset, the play clock reset and State would run their next play. The rule is STEADFAST. You snap it you cannot do replay. And that is again just one of the screwups of this officiating crew. THEY should be held accountable (along with swofford).

YogiNCParticipantTwo weeks in a row screwed by the refs and the replay booth. This is a bunch of crap, swofford bowl II. Time he should be fired.

YogiNCParticipantQuestion for the masses. If we win the toss, would YOU prefer to kick or receive?
Yes.

YogiNCParticipant^ Yep, Murphy is umm, mini Boone at best. However, given OKS does have Boone and the fahsilatees are really pretty good, weren’t they one of the schools involved in the Adidas pay to play deal? I don’t care too much for money, money can’t buy me love…John Lennon.

YogiNCParticipantOkey Dokey, truncated it is. The long and short is we just need to win this one real bad. It does seem odd though, locomotives don’t get flat tires. What they do get I REALLY don’t want us to have (and I’m not gonna say it and I wish I’d not even thunk it).

YogiNCParticipantUmmm..pardon me CD, if I may recall a Paul Harvey expression, where’s “The rest of the story”? I know it’s Thursday of a very long week for me especially with Halloween thrown in (Zombies ate my candy and some of my mind) but it seems to me you were interrupted and fired a dry shot (euphemism).

YogiNCParticipantBOTB, we can’t let a tanked, corrupt security detail screw up the opportunity for something really special. I’m still in. Playing the blues right now but I’m still in. I think that officiating crew should be forced to sit down with the team and watch the game films. Time after time the ND dbacks grabbed and pushed and never a yellow flag. I said it before and I’ll say it again, The swofford bowl is crap.
Smarter than the average bear
YogiNCParticipantAnd we lost the Swofford Bowl. I knew we were in trouble when the ND receiver pushed off and they called PI on the defender. Very poorly officiated but then that’s what swoff wanted. HOW in heck can you miss someone 2 steps offsides????

YogiNCParticipantBOTB, Black Magic Woman was alluding to the possible necessity for “extra help”. The Jobu comment was from the movie “Major League”, as in “so I say to you, FU Jobu I do it myself.” LOL. Being the keyboard player Gregg Rolle from Santana was one of my favorites. Rockin out Red & White sound like fun too. At any rate, here’s hoping to a paaaaaaarrrrtay (Sinbad…”Unnecessary Roughness”) around 7 PM. And as everybody knows a great party demands great music (and some adult beverages).

YogiNCParticipantBOTB and Joe, Hammond B-3 with twin leslies and a couple of synths here. Let’s find some sticks and strike up a band. Conjure up some Santana “Black Magic Woman” for today’s game, Jobu is no help on a football field. I want to see that QB get crumpled just like our D did to the QB back in Jax at the Gator bowl. I want to see him get Chubbed.

YogiNCParticipantThe news & obfuscator had a great article on one of the main differences this year. It could be the difference in today’s game big time.

YogiNCParticipantHave any of you noticed the stars for our incoming class? I remember all too well 2s & 3s and some NRs thrown in there. The 2018 class is all 3s and above. As long as I’ve been reading those tea leaves I’ve never seen us do that. Granted it’s a ways to the Bams and the tiggers BUT it shows drastic improvement for us. Just sayin’

YogiNCParticipantTwo things that happen in an environment that fosters great performance and a great working environment. 1. High performers either get promoted within or move on to other opportunities. 2. When that promotion happens those who would like to fill the opening is larger and the probability of hiring a great replacement is higher. I’m pretty sure DD’s reputation is fostering that type of environment since we have landed some pretty good talent in the assistants. If you look back to CTC his environment was vastly different (opposite by most accounts). People were leaving just to get the heck away from him. I highly doubt he learned that from Bobby Bowden.
With DD I’m sure any potential hires are encouraged to speak with the other coaches and players about the working environment. Word on the street is Aaron Henry, the new safeties coach is a top notch guy and was a great addition this year when Clayton White left for a DC position at Western Carolina. Clayton White is from Dunn, where I live, and our circles have crossed from time to time. I saw him the first of the summer and asked him to tell me straight up why he left. He said it was a very hard decision, his heart has always been with State and working with the current staff was the best experience of his life. Knowing Clayton, if his experience had been not that good he would have only said he was looking for a promotion. He said DD was not only the best boss he’d ever had but also one of the best people he’s ever been associated with.

YogiNCParticipantThe interesting thing is ND depends on the run. I have all ideas the pack has been working on that. We’ll see, it could be a really good game. If we prevail is could be a GREAT game.

YogiNCParticipantMc, the only predictions I’ve seen this year were at the start of the season. And no one here has predicted that DD will get COY, or State would even make it to the NC against bama. But at this point in THIS season the team has done really well, well above almost everyone’s expectations. And yet what I think you may be taking as predictions of grandeur, most of us have at best guarded optimism. Right now this is a season of hope and no comments have gone past that. The thing is the hopes this year are vastly different than in a long time. I remember that 2002 season VERY WELL. I also remember GT coming in and taking away that chance for a great season on the 2nd of November.
So I say to you why not let us revel in what could be until it all plays out. We’ve had to live with the pessimism for so long why not let us enjoy our guarded optimism. We’ve had a very good season so far and even the detractors have to admit it is surprising and joyous to see us doing so well. Why not let it go at that until something negative does happen. Constantly being chicken little eventually becomes really difficult, doesn’t it?
