If he sucks, then we get to have this fun in 5-6 years from now.

More like 3. Yow is about to give her replacement his (or her) first assignment. Keatts is going to stink out loud if he’s the guy, and we will know it very soon.

Double his salary and let him pull a double duty next year.

Hey Deb, if you are reading, be sure to ask him how he managed to finish DFL in the CAA in defense this year, and what his plan to remedy that at NC state would be. Let us know what he says.

I got bad vibes yesterday when IU came open. May be no crossed wires there, but it didn’t feel good.

There is nothing at all to be positive about if it is Keatts. I could find a better coach at any number of rec centers. I know good basketball and what I saw yesterday was trash. He does not coach defense.

If this is true and we don’t have a Marshall, Holtmann or Buzz Williams-surprise type hire lined up, then I hate to say it but the talking heads are right. Really quite astonishing we can’t find better coaches.

We’ll know soon enough. Don’t see Dayton surviving the weekend.

Of course Crean is a giant step up from Keatts/Wade. As are dozens of others.

How do you go from Archie/Marshall/Holtmann to Wade and Keatts? Is anyone there doing their job? Why did we shell out $90k for a search firm. Total incompetence.

He beat their asses. What’s that supposed to mean? The object is to win.

    Slow golf clap.

Good luck with that garbage in the ACC. Maybe he’ll hang a CBI banner.

Keatts has as decent of a chance as anybody I’ve seen

If he can’t defend the jugernauts occupying the almighty CAA, tell me what his plan is for the ACC. It’s street ball, and that stuff isn’t going to work here.

It is awfully hard to have hope when you know what the outcome will be. It’s more just like – why even care anymore? Seriously, if Keatts truly is the best we can do then count me out. That’s ludicrous.

If we get rejected enough times and have to hire Keatts then you guys won’t see me around here any longer. Of course, many of you would be perfectly happy with that. I do NOT see him working out by any measure.

Day 2: looks like we’ll see at least another three ACC teams advance as Duke, UNC and Lville have easy games. Big question is if Miami can handle Sparty. I am betting no.

Wichita/Dayton tip off at 7:10. Must see.

Also looking forward to Rhode Island/Creighton and Marquette/South Carolina.

I thought both VCU and UNCW were very disorganized. They play hard – but that should be a given. UNCW could have won that game but they kept chucking awful threes, and their defense is horrendous, as it has been all year. I honestly don’t see what anyone sees in Keatts. There have been a million of these guys.

Badgers/Hokies on now as well. Good matchup on the gridiron.

I don’t think Bennett is ever leaving St. Mary’s. He’s flirted with many Pac 12 jobs, but has always decided to stay. He’s a Gael lifer, so it seems. And he sure isn’t coming East.

Other coaches that never played college ball:

    Tom Crean
    Buzz Williams
    Scott Drew
    Mick Cronin
    Roy Williams (he played JV)
