Not the same here without a Taylor C. video on gameday …
wufpup76KeymasterAll in good fun, sir. We should create an account named ‘Rick’s phone’ and see what it can come up with on various subjects.
Shockers within 3 at the half after being down 13.
wufpup76KeymasterND is so weirdly offensive. I an shocked they won the acc as it is hard to keep that up for a long stretch.
I gate watching whisky PSU. Reminds me if the herb
Your phone is singular in its ability to deliver the awesome.
wufpup76KeymasterI see
Willis ReedKennedy Meeks was miraculously able to play tonight.03/26/2015 at 5:11 PM in reply to: Pennsylvania Columnist David Jones: “Louisville-NC State could pass for an NIT semifinal” #82775wufpup76KeymasterI love the archiving technique.
The article’s author probably wasn’t trolling for hits, but the cbs sports crowd and those of their ilk were/are at least ‘clever’ enough to know that State fans are so passionate they can make for easy clicks.
We start archiving that crap and cutting off a troll’s life blood and let’s see how many more shoddy hit pieces they churn out ๐ (not to mention that once archived those words are saved for eternity … the interwebz do not forget. The interwebz do not forgive.)
We’ll learn ’em.
Power to the consumer!
wufpup76KeymasterYou left out the Blacklist on NBC at 9pm.
Haha, my recordings of The Blacklist got messed up somehow, so I’ll just wait patiently for it to show up on Netflix …

Who would read their work?
Ha!
wufpup76KeymasterTerms are not disclosed, but Dayton signs Archie through 2022.
Kudos to them for getting a long term deal in place so quickly after this season.

Alpha – I hope it’s ok, I archived that link. I don’t want that crap getting page hits from us!
wufpup76KeymasterLetโs just get the good juju started now:
I approve!
My back is looking rough.
Haha nice.

My body does not react well at all to either beer or wine. Beer has some ingredient that makes my throat close up, and wine blesses me with tremendous headaches.
Liquor however, let’s do it!
wufpup76KeymasterI believe aside from negotiated home-and-home deals – like with Cincy and Tennessee the past couple of seasons – all other non preseason tournament games are scheduled during each off season.
We owed Missouri a game down there this season, but for a reason I can’t recall it I think it was pushed to next season (it may have been nixed altogether). Missouri had a coaching change of course, and the new staff may not have been comfortable with that game this season (with seemingly good reason as Missouri was pretty poor). I don’t know who we got on the schedule to make up for that game, but I think it may have been La Tech (don’t hold me to it).
The key is to schedule the Wofford’s and La Tech’s, who even though they’re from a ‘weaker’ conference those teams will offer a good challenge and help the metrics such as RPI ranking because they’re likely to finish near the top or win their conference outright.
Gottfried and his staff do an excellent job of identifying these teams for the upcoming season and getting them on the schedule. This is one area where Gottfried’s program can not be knocked. It also eliminates any possibility of a coach/program (Herb!) making weak excuses about scheduling. Herb knew exactly what he was doing scheduling Arkansas Pine-Bluff every season.
“We were tremendously fortunate to get a win tonight against this seasoned Arkansas Pine-Bluff team.” Ok Herb.
wufpup76KeymasterDon’t worry though, the game thread tomorrow will be good juju approved.
wufpup76KeymasterI have gone full anti-wufpup through this tournament and ignored superstitions.
I’ve been twitching like a drug addict all week.
wufpup76KeymasterI’m strongly doubting it.
I still remember what the athletes from LSU did to West Virginia in Morgantown. Kentucky has like 55 of those guys.
It’s possible, of course … but I just don’t see this like a lot of folks seem to.
I’ve been very critical of West Virginia this season. This doesn’t mean I think poorly of Huggins as a coach – he’s more than proved his mettle. It’s just that he’s put together a team that can only win if refs literally swallow their whistles. I will never consider that basketball. Full court bumping, clutching, and hacking is not a skill of any sort on a basketball court.
They’re doing what they need to in order to win – so good for them I guess … but I can’t stand the sight of it.
wufpup76KeymasterIt is indeed the right time, good sir.
wufpup76Keymaster“You can imagine how happy I was to hear in the early Gottfried interviews that he had to redo the OOC schedule for his first year as coach”
^You weren’t alone, sir.
Very interesting stuff as always – thanks.
It definitely is, but you also have to sympathize with season ticket holders who are not going to get excited over a game with BSU or watching a loss to Wofford. Though for now, a S-16 (or better) finish should sell plenty of tickets for next year.
^I do not sympathize. If one wants to be willfully ignorant that’s fine … But if one complains about those games online, on talk shows, to the AD, etc. then I go on my personal crusade to stomp that ignorance. A Herb-style OOC schedule should be complained about. Sidney thought he was doing well by scheduling Florida but apparently did not understand how scheduling works. One or two ‘marquee’ home games can be fun, but they mean about ****-all towards a body of work.
I’ll back up season ticket holders who complain about a Herb or Sidney OOC schedule all day long. If they’re complaining about Gott’s though what exactly do they want? And do they realize that they’d be complaining about the end product (making the NCAA, getting a good seed)?
This falls into “I want to bitch and moan” territory for me.
wufpup76KeymasterGreat end result almost no matter what happens.
Want to see State fight, scratch, and claw it’s way to the Final Four and make it even sweeter … and greater. Will be thinking of Texpack Sr. and all other Wolfpack fans who have gone about 30 years without anything more than a couple of nice, unexpected Sweet 16 runs to savor when and if the Pack is able to capture the regional.
Regardless of what happens, I feel different about this Sweet 16 run than I do the previous two. I think these guys are keyed in on what they need to do and the opportunity that now lies before them. I feel it’s ok to feel/be disappointed if it doesn’t work out because this is a golden opportunity – but that feeling would quickly dissipate because of what these guys were able to accomplish.
The run under Herb just felt like it was going to end where it did – I think Herb felt like he’d truly accomplished something and that the ‘pressure’ was off. That seemed to rub off on the team, and despite an early flurry the game worked out being the inevitable letdown that the fanbase could feel coming.
The run in 2012 for Gottfried’s first season was a lot of fun because you could see the improvement in the team. I felt like they had a shot to beat that Kansas team, but KU was solid. Winning that game would have resulted in a pretty amazing accomplishment. As it was, that Sweet 16 was like finding an oasis in the desert. State was an actual threat, not a 2nd weekend ceiling team with a gimmick offense.
This weekend represents an opportunity for one more step. Regardless, there’s a lot to be proud about already for this team and the guys on it. A truly likable team and group of guys. I’ll save the ‘thank yous’ though until the balls are put away. In Indianapolis ๐ (in the Annapolis).
wufpup76KeymasterPrice has accepted the Charlotte head coaching job
I archived the link b/c it’s a Goodman article and I don’t want his crap to get hits ๐
wufpup76KeymasterIn case you missed it:
wufpup76Keymaster“On the differences in U of L since the first NC State game: I think we realize certain things defensively. We’ve pointed it out to them where and how we get beat. I think we’re much smarter the last month than we’ve been. I think that’s why we’ve become a better basketball team. I think we constantly got beat because we were in the wrong place and I had to give up on certain things. It really helped us practicing for a week after the (ACC) tournament. We weren’t on the clock because we were on spring vacation, so we could really spend time teaching what we wanted to teach.
Just everybody’s understanding where their position is on the court and they understand they have to talk in order to make the thing work.”
wufpup76KeymasterThis is a great interview. Thanks a lot for sharing.
You can hear how genuine Coach Lutz is and how much passion he has for basketball. He comes across really well in this interview.
They also discuss what’s been a hot topic here the past couple of days: potential adjustments from Louisville. It’s worth the listen for that subject alone ๐
wufpup76KeymasterWhat an awful call at the last second of the Miami-Richmond game.
wufpup76KeymasterCat 1.0 might care, PolitiCat 2.0 laughs and says โWTF SFN?โ
Haha, this came up during the Lacey interview as well. Apparently Barber e-mailed the President, a former Chief of Staff who’s a State guy made sure Obama saw the message. Obama apparently responded – no big deal.
Thankfully, anyone with a shred of common sense acknowledges that it was blown entirely out of proportion by the Internet Gestapo.
wufpup76KeymasterAnyone remember this? Whoโs laughing now, Paola?
The Wolfpack send their regards.
