VT keeping this interesting. Glad the ACC will get at least six, all of which could easily make the 2nd weekend of the NCAA tournament. Not saying that will happen, but each team has the potential. I think State ranks a fairly distant 3rd of six in possibility to make the third weekend. I’m not putting that kind of stock in ND, Louisville, or Cheats.

But tonight I found myself thinking of him as a clear Senior leader… Regardless of his scoring.
I love Ralston. I might catch some flak for this, but imo he’s an underrated rebounder and while defense is not his strong suit he’s not an awful team defender. He rotates fairly well and is not out of position too much. Not a good on-ball defender, but rotates and closes out well. Lead the team in charges taken this season.
In fact, in the game @ Cheats – the Cheats had the ball down 51-46 and Paige was able to push off Barber and get himself open in the corner. It was Turner that recognized and closed on him – when Paige went in the air he thought twice and attempted a pass which our main on defense, Freeman, rotated down and picked off.
Just sayin’, Turner is not completely ineffective when he’s not hitting 3’s. We need him to hit 3’s though 🙂
This was a solid performance. Wining one without BSW making anything is a nice way to start. He did match Freeman with six rebounds.

So… State’s in the NCAA tourney, right?
^Believe it or not, Gminski and other media types were talking about how State faced a ‘must win’ and how State would be right back on the bubble with a loss. A loss would have caused mild discomfort, but there was no way State wasn’t making it. Now at least we don’t have to hear that tripe BS the rest of the weekend.

Really liked Lacey’s postgame interview on Raycom … that was awesome how much praise he gave Cat and acknowledged what he himself could do better. Great leadership.
I don’t have a problem w/ offensive player initiating contact. It shouldn’t be an automatic foul on the defense though. There is such a thing as a ‘no call’.
