“In short…. Fix the half court offense and a whole lot of things will straighten themselves out.”
^This 1000%. We do not have a half-court offense. I wish Howell was a redshirt senior this season … sh*t in one hand and wish in the other.
I don’t mean anything bad against our current big guys – they’ve all shown flashes and have generally played well – except on the offensive end. Howell was an excellent passer and the ball moves so much better when it hits the post at least once per half-court posession.

wufpup76KeymasterIt’s my opinion that THE key to our offense is establishing a post presence. I’m disheartened by the lack of low post entry passes, but in fairness our bigs have not established themselves as a down low threat.
wufpup76KeymasterChud out after one season. Ouch.
He goes from coaching Cam to unemployed … On a side note, I wonder why organizations don’t try to emulate the Steelers more. It’s fair to say that they’ve had some really good head coaches, but they also stick by their guys on the occasional one or two off years. I don’t think Tomlin would even be let go if they didn’t make the playoffs next season (given that they are relatively competitive and they’re not looking to completely overhaul the roster – which they rarely do).
The Steelers have had remarkably consistent success … A key to that is, well, consistency. Are they the outlier, or someone to emulate? I think the Panthers even show organizational consistency. Not a lot of coaching changes, even though there was speculation about Rivera as soon as midway through his first season. They even kept former GM Hurney for a long time when he would’ve been let go at a lot of other places.
Contrast the Steelers to Snyder’s Redskins, or the Raiders of the past twenty-five seasons … It’s amusing.
wufpup76KeymasterQueue “State has a habit of blowing leads” from every color announcer we hear for the rest of the season.
wufpup76Keymaster“His post-game remarks have become cliché. I wonder what he will say about letting a 17 point lead slip away.”
^This is fair, but I like his positivity … this is a young team. The biggest problem I have with the lead slipping away (see also: Detroit, Tenn) is that we didn’t respond – at all – to the other teams’ punches. The other teams played looser and tougher … We have to do something about that.
wufpup76KeymasterOn a lighter note, the Oregon cheerleaders are on tv.
wufpup76KeymasterI hope it’s skiddish youth, Whiteshoes … I really do.
The other team took it to us, not the other way around. Mental does seem to be a lot of it.
Would love to know what happened at the end of the game there … not a good look. I’m sure they (someone) did something to Warren, but if teams know they can punk us they will.
wufpup76KeymasterWe won … and there’s some real anger after the game involving Warren. Our guys need to keep their heads, but I’d want to slap Wes Miller too.
Not many positives other than the fact we won. We still allowed Miller’s team to, in effect, punk us. Hope these continue to be learning experiences.
wufpup76KeymasterGood God it’s a miracle when they get it right
wufpup76KeymasterI don’t think anyone here wants to blame refs, but when the Espn3 announcer says UNCG has been receiving great calls then there’s a problem
wufpup76KeymasterHoly cow … I just am seeing these calls … WTF?
We’re playing chapel hill
wufpup76KeymasterPlease, anything but losing to Wes Miller and Jackie Manuel … as coaches.
wufpup76KeymasterWhat was that call against Lee?
wufpup76KeymasterThank goodness the commercials on Espn3 are crystal clear as I see neither of Le Nard’s missed FT’s
wufpup76KeymasterTurner, just because you’re in the game doesn’t mean you need to immediately force up a shot … two bad shots in a row by Turner then Buckets.
wufpup76KeymasterBill – as you see, I agree with you … we rarely perform an entry pass.
wufpup76KeymasterBarber has to be able to complete a low post entry pass once our guys have established position … He seems to favor driving over entry passes.
That’s fine, but it needs to happen sometimes for the sake of offensive flow.
wufpup76KeymasterI do know that after we got up by 17 we’ve allowed them to start out-playing us again
58-46 Pack is the last score I have
wufpup76KeymasterI’m so far behind what’s actually going on Rick that I couldn’t accurately tell you
wufpup76KeymasterEspn3 has decided to put me about three minutes behind … awesome
wufpup76KeymasterFantastic first four minutes of half two … keep it up. Intensity is there and this is a different game now.
No way that shot should have counted going into the break hahaha wow
wufpup76KeymasterGott needs to bottle these halftime adjustments and the speech
wufpup76KeymasterThink so, Plywood
