Turner looks fine, so maybe it’s someone else w/ an ankle issue
wufpup76KeymasterAnya really good minutes here
wufpup76KeymasterAnya to Washington … that was good ball movement
wufpup76KeymasterWe might as well just drive to the basket and throw it up everytime. We have no shooters and one scorer.
wufpup76KeymasterWe need Turner, no doubt – shot selection be damned. Some of his shots come from our lack of ball movement / half-court offense.
wufpup76KeymasterSorry for going off topic, but I just got home and turned on Duke-GT.
I see that at the half, GT is dominating every category of the game, save one – free throws. At the half, GT was 0-2 from the line while Duke was 14-16. Duke led 34-33 despite being beaten significantly in every other statistical category.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. Duke opens the second half with two more immediate free throws, and has since pulled away. Ballgame. Unreal.
wufpup76KeymasterThis has been the season of miracle Auburn plays, so definitely not over
wufpup76KeymasterOk, from the two yard line …
wufpup76KeymasterWell, she was rather pretty
wufpup76KeymasterCrazy ending coming up … Herbstriet was right – looked like a horsecollar
wufpup76KeymasterWow
wufpup76KeymasterBrent is checking out war eagle tail.
^In fairness to Brent, I would be too.
wufpup76KeymasterYes, Herbstreit – definitely a win for the Noles holding them to three … but that call means TD only for FSU. Huge call.
wufpup76KeymasterWow … he should know better, but that looked like a tough call
wufpup76KeymasterThat’s awesome … hope they continue to get deserved recognition and increased attendance.
wufpup76Keymaster“Forcing dribble penetration does not. Doink.
^I’ve been avoiding saying it and I don’t want it to be taken the wrong way – but a lot of our half-court offensive wows begin at the point guard position.
wufpup76KeymasterUnforced turnovers … holy mother.
Defense and rebounding started out great, but steadily declined throughout the game … credit to Pitt, but I thought it had more to do with us – mostly as a result of said turnovers and a non-existent half-court offense.
This team *can* win, but clearly not in a half-court game – at least not this season. Also, you can’t play or force transition by turning the ball over every other possession and taking the ball out after an opponent score.
It’s unfortunate, but you could see it coming after the first eight minutes. We can’t score in the half-court, pair that with just awful, unforced turnovers and you get outscored by fifty the last thirty minutes of the game.
wufpup76Keymaster01/02/2014 at 10:13 PM in reply to: Business Week- "Scandal Bowl: UNC-CH Football, Academic Fraud & Implicit Racism" #35111wufpup76Keymaster“This scandal, unfolding since 2011, has the potential to destroy a vaunted football program at a prestigious public university.”
^There are multiple falsities in this one statement. Care to guess? Hints: ‘destroy’, ‘vaunted’, and ‘prestigious’. Even ‘university’ is a stretch at this point (ok, that was a low blow). As for ‘destroy’ – nope, never gonna happen. You’re dealing with the ‘Teflon Don’ of NCAA competition.
“The professor’s academic career appears to be over, and justifiably so. But he cannot possibly have executed this massive lie on his own.”
^True. It will never be ‘proven’ though.
“Now that he’s been indicted, Nyang’oro has an incentive to tell prosecutors who knew what he was doing and who encouraged him to do it.”
^We’ll believe it when we hear it / see it.
No comment on the racism, but the article makes the ‘Crack Baby Athletic Association” episode of South Park to come to mind.
wufpup76Keymaster“If we can offset the loss of efficiency on the offensive end with much improved defense, which will create better opportunities to score, then maybe we dance. “
^Agree completely. Defense (and by extension defensive rebounding) leading to transition is our best hope. I’m not sold that our half-court offense will improve.
I love our bigs – Vberg’s been great in transition and Anya great on the defensive end (w/r to blocking shots) – but currently they + Barber are not executing any type of fluid half-court offense.
wufpup76KeymasterThanks for you work, as always.
Even though it’s early season rpi, I am surprised Pitt’s rpi rates as high as it does given their schedule thus far.
I don’t think we have much of a chance to reach the tourny, but it will be fun watching the team. Go Pack.
You can’t take much from results against common opponents, but Maryland – who has been pretty bad this season – just beat Central by 14 the other day 🙁
wufpup76KeymasterKeymaster…..didn’t they use that on one of the Ghostbuster movies?
^Yes, that’s why I want to be Gozer.
wufpup76KeymasterHi – a potential fix (unless it’s wufpup user error, which would not be surprising 🙂 )
I attempted to use the ‘<u>link</u>’ code button in a post, but the url or it’s title did not show in the post. When I straight copy and pasted the url into the post without using the ‘link’ button the url appeared in the post.
Thanks 🙂
Edit: Question – it looks like other tags are not supported (such as my failed ‘underline’ attempt)?
wufpup76KeymasterTeddy Bridgewater announces he is leaving for the NFL.
I’m not at all sold on Louisville as a long term program.
I’m looking to jump now if I am Charlie Strong.
^I dunno, I think they could be a regular top 25 program – but your statement made me think of Chris Petersen jumping from Boise.
As for Texas, the resulting game of Dominoes should be interesting.
Edit: I have a URL link in this post, but I don’t see it (?)
Edit #2: It may be ‘user error’, but my attempted url link did not work/appear in the post using the
- link
code button … fyi.
wufpup76KeymasterDamn rouges, ruining the good name … Pffft
