Freeman out today … not sure on Lewis’ status.
Huge loss w/ Freeman out … probably wouldn’t have mattered though.
Let’s get on w/ it, Tenn-UK
wufpup76KeymasterI’ll say double digits – down by 11 points.
This Tenn-UK game is going to go another twenty minutes.
wufpup76Keymaster^^Two games absolutely stolen, BJD … one of which helped ruin a promising season for HWSNBN’s team. I do wonder sometimes how it would’ve possibly different if the @Duke and @Maryland games don’t get completely stolen from that HWSNBN team that season. Oh well, in the past I guess.
wufpup76KeymasterThanks so much for putting this together.
Hope for the best.
wufpup76KeymasterSo, let’s get this straight … Unx is right about everything and their research is top notch and above reproach.
Unx hires Mary Willingham and part of her duties include research. Unx is associated with Mary Willingham for a considerable amount of time. Yet, now – all of a sudden – she doesn’t know how to conduct or evaluate her own research.
So bottom line is that Unx hired Mary Willingham and kept their association with her – even though she is incapable of good research practices.
Ok.
wufpup76KeymasterYou don’t even have to be an ABC’er – if *anyone* criticizes the ‘flagship’ they are automatically met with ‘well everybody does it, and you shouldn’t cast stones from your glass house since you cheer for _______’.
That falls flat on so many levels … The holes have no one to blame but themselves. If they aren’t fraudulently holding themselves up as *THE* standard in college athletics and academia for the past eternity there’s a reasonable chance this ‘mess’ never gets as far as it has. They held themselves up as such, and that ideal was happily propagated by the local unx media machine … Then, the national media. And we all know that lazy journalism and tired takes would *never* come from national talking heads (snicker).
As it is currently, their PR machine is a runaway train heading full speed in the wrong direction. They simply know no other way than ‘we are all that is good and right in the world – others are not’. I didn’t know it was possible for a collective entity to become so far stuck up its own ass.
‘But our SAT admittance average is better than yours!!!’ And that means exactly what as soon as the ‘student athletes’ show up on campus for no show classes?
Fraudulence and Flippancy. The Carolina Way.
Get mad, Roy. Get real mad! It’s your *right* to benefit from fraud!
Glorious.
wufpup76KeymasterAre you saying fans are like this? π
wufpup76Keymaster“Gott may be hedging on quantity minutes leading to quality play down the road some.”
I hope so (w/r/t Barber) … I think Barber brings a lot to the table. Unfortunately, running an offense is not one of them at this time.
wufpup76KeymasterFree throws and terrible shot selection aside, what I’m most concerned with currently is that this team is still unable to even semi-competently attack a zone at this point in the season.
I’ve been willing to write off some of the struggles due to youth, etc. – but we should at least be able to bust a zone up on occasion at this point.
From what I saw – all things being equal – we are ~10 points better than Wake Forest on a given night. Why did we lose? Easy – we cannot attack a zone. We sh*t our pants and hoist a 24-foot three-pointer b/c we’re ‘kinda-sorta open and we should shoot that.’
Point fingers where you feel they need pointing – bottom line is this team has enough talent to not solely lose to a zone defense at this point in the season. It is the reason we lost last night. Unbelievable.
If teams stay in ‘man’ against us for any length of time from this point forward we should thank the heavens. I doubt we will score 40 total points against Syracuse.
wufpup76KeymasterI’m guessing we get slammed, but we’ll see.
Wake can be like us in the “play them and get yourself right” department, so there may be hope yet.
wufpup76KeymasterCall the bankruptcy law offices of JOHN T. ORCUTT today, Maryland
wufpup76KeymasterAgree basically with what’s already been said … It’s just the way it is.
It’s easier to adjust / get used to things when you’re a kid, for the rest of us we’ll just have to learn to embrace those thrilling Syracuse-BC ACC match-ups haha.
In essence, this is (possibly) a strengthening of the product but a dilution of the emotional investment that a large percentage of us are used to. That may change, in time. We’ll see.
wufpup76KeymasterWow great info and work … Thanks so much for your contribution.
As for the Monday games, yep … the ACC is officially now a part of Espn’s ‘Big’ Monday since the Big East changed direction (haha pun intended). Espn may need a new moniker for ‘Big’ Monday though, seeing as how it’s no longer the Big East followed by the Big 12.
Maybe call it ‘Duke-Carolina’ Monday, even if neither of these teams are playing? Those teams seem to be the only talking points for Espn anyway, so why not?
As for the wtf red *NC cap, I remember seeing those for sale at the overpriced Lids store in the mall years ago and thinking exactly that … wtf? I guess if Walmart nation or hip hop video producers will buy it though then somebody can make money off of it. (No disrespect to Walmart or hip hop, of course).
Can’t say that I’ve ever seen the hole blue block State ‘S’ before though … Interesting.
wufpup76Keymaster“Unx to build the Roy Williams center for players wwho canβt read good and want to do other stuff good too.”
Roy feels like he’s taking crazy pills! He invented feeling sorry for one’s self. HE INVENTED IT!!!

Which means bettors should go the other way, respectively
wufpup76KeymasterWell … it was a good season. Disappointing end.
wufpup76KeymasterTerrible call in the Panthers’ favor this time … let’s see if can take advantage
wufpup76KeymasterWay too much time taken to hand off to Tolbert for one yard
Your season is 5 minutes away
wufpup76Keymaster8 minute possession with no points out of it … brutal
Have to have a stop soon, and then something the Panthers haven’t done much of – hurry up offense
wufpup76KeymasterRut roh indeed … And if the Panthers’ D players didn’t want to impale Kaepernik before, they definitely do now after that cheese TD celebration
wufpup76KeymasterWell, the 49ers have certainly gotten the breaks from the officials – two calls (or no call on one) that led directly to 10 points. From Pam Oliver’s sideline report it sounds like the 49ers are going to push it even more this half and see what they can get away with.
Bad call on the Mitchell unnecessary roughness, Boldin not called for any of his shenanigans (including an identical headbut that was called on the Panthers), and the clear 12 men in the huddle on the TD.
Officials not often a concern in NFL games.
wufpup76Keymaster49ers living right, ahead at the half after Panthers basically ruled the first half
wufpup76Keymaster^Too true, Wulfpack … And I agree, Bill.
Stay positive, yes … but … just …
Anyway, I created an open thread for the Divisional playoffs and/or college basketball / other if anyone is interested.
wufpup76KeymasterI can’t believe what just happened in the Seattle game … it’s like last season’s Denver-Baltimore game
wufpup76Keymaster“same can be said for every single other team in basketball”
^Overall, yes. Worse for a team like Virginia though. Virginia giving a team run outs due to poor offense gives them no chance to execute their calling card – defense. They are not built to come back against any deficit much over 10 points.
