If we could find a way to play solid D for just 5 game minutes and get untracked we could win … maybe

    Lecomte is killing us 🙁

Gonna need Barber to keep him out of the lane … way too many easy looks for Miami

We’re incredibly fortunate to be tied given how many easy looks they’ve had

It’d be nice to get a 10-15 point victory just for them to let some steam out … but I dunno. Kind of a choppy start. Hope they can keep it together.

Hope they don’t get discouraged if they get down early … seem ripe for a possible letdown

    ^Drinking game anyone? I’m down.

I remember watching him come into his own in a tournament in Charlotte. Pepsi Classic, I think.

^He dominated that particular tournament, and it was the start of something special. I think you’re correct about it being his sophomore season. He looked so awkward on the court as freshman in limited playing time, and then came out of nowhere that next season.

Bjd – interested to see your reasoning for Monroe > Warren if you care to share. I’m not trying to debate, just wondering.

Haven’t the ladies suffered a couple of devastating ‘nc state sh*t’ injuries the last couple of weeks?

    Please correct me if not.

Are Ovies and Glenn related, maybe old classmates or something? He did spend time in Miami, after all. Though it manifests itself differently in each tool, there’s a strong similarity to their “I’m the smartest man in the room” smugness.

^Ovies and Gold are fine by me … Most of the time their show is light-hearted. Confession bear: I actually enjoy some of Ovies’ trolling (it doesn’t come across as smug to me, but different strokes and all).

Glenn on the other hand … oh my gawd. Narcissistic doesn’t begin to cover it. Haven’t heard him in a long time, but if he still spends entire segments on how if you don’t think like he does or if you don’t agree with him then you don’t have a brain and you live in your mom’s basement then it’s a wonder he’s still on the air. Sheep will lap up anything though I suppose.

At least we didn’t get screwed this bad. Or did we?
A double OT playoff game. Guess the refs had dinner reservations.

    LOL

^^I need one of those silver lining blankets for every game.

Or, I could just go for Jennifer Lawrence’s silver linings playbook (cheap and cheesy, I know):

Hot girls always make the day better.

Did I mention good teams find a way to win? Just own the reality and stop complaing about some stupid conspiracy. It just makes this dismal pile of crap that is state athletic look even more like a joke.

    ^There’s certainly validity to this.

I didn’t think the officiating was bad overall.

Specific calls really cost us big time. No call on the Warren drive at the end of regulation. No call on Warren getting mugged by McAdoo with 30 seconds left in OT. I’d say Warren’s third foul (game changing) was phantom – but that’s debatable. I don’t really think the other two are very debatable.

If there are specific instances where NC State benefited in such a huge way I very much welcome seeing them or having them pointed out.

That was @ St. Joe’s, the game that got us a tourney bid locked up MG’s first year.

    St. Bonaventure actually 🙂

Before we get totally derailed, ask yourself this:

We’ve had three games this season – all lost by one point – in which calls or no-calls had a direct impact on the outcome of the game … Would your opinion of this team and season be any different if we were 10-5 in the ACC, as we should be? Take away this Hole game even if you want to. We’d still be 9-6 and in line for a Ncaa tournament birth. What’s your opinion then?

N.C. State is far from a perfect team. N.C. State has lost plenty of games this season – some by bad margins. Do they deserve to be bashed for three victories taken from them though? If those three games are wins, we are in the Ncaa tournament. Rick is right. The ‘we’re not very good’ crowd is right as well. Be fair to each other.

Paige absolutely deserves a hat tip – totally agree.

Hopefully Gott will just go ballistic in the presser and say the refs absolutely screwed them, he could give a sh!t about NC State, and this season is worse than Haiti. Might get us a couple of rings.

^haha … In another life perhaps

Up by 2 with the ball, Warren clearly fouled. *arolina ball.

Not really interested in hearing about how much better *arolina is at the moment. Also, anyone who’s interested – please spare the “but Warren went 1-2 from the line durrrr” … would that even have been the case had the foul on Warren been called at the end of regulation? Would it have been the case if the foul on Warren would’ve been called with 30 seconds left instead of giving them the ball????

I don’t want another ref argument either. But really, you’re going to ignite one by talking about how the better team won.
