SEC apparently has a new coach

    More ‘exciting’ basketball!

Gottfried will be on Mike & Mike at 9:30 for anyone interested / able to listen/see.

“… a team that looked dangerous last night, finally scoring with ease against Northern Iowa, shooting 45.8% from the floor and 45.5% behind the arc

UNI was touted as one of the best defensive teams in the nation. Stat gods also said they were. Panthers were very clearly over-matched last night. Credit to Louisville. I put that one more in the column of whipping an over-matched opponent.

Also, I see in the twitter feed someone claimed that M. Greenberg picked State to win the championship. Unfortunately not true, he was just repeating the facts about beating Duke, Cheats, and a # 1 seed in the same season.

    Louisville it is.

Wonder if Pitino will roll out some zone against us. We need Ralston to make shots any way it goes.

Terrible match-up for UNI … Louisville out-athlete-ening them.

    Or something.

Whenever NCAA wants to rid themselves of WV, they just let the refs know, “Call fouls.” End of tourney for them.

But there’s so much skill and strategy involved in how they play!

Tokoto is jealous of Melo’s do I bet.

    Has to be.

I’ve missed the entire game while in sleepy town. Was there dirty play or something?

I’d be shocked if so in a WVa-Maryland game … *snicker*

Think it may be sleepy time once WV/MD ends.

I thought I was being prudent by sleeping through Duke-SDSU … I just happened to sleep through the other games as well.

At least I get to finish off UNI-Ville!

Poor half from UNI … I’m fine w/ Louisville winning. The entire week of media will be about how Pitino will face Izzo in the regional final (that and Cat-Obama). Great, let them sleep on us.

    Re: Cat’s remark

    ^People …

All this, over a joke. The lowest common denominators truly have nothing better to do.

What would really piss me off is if this affects his/our preparation and/or play on Friday. It’s amazing to have to possibly worry about people at State hopefully insulating Barber from the speech and thought nazis with mics and recorders… because of a throw away joke! JOKING is evil and can’t be allowed.

Now there are going to be 5 billion questions to both Gottfried and Barber about ‘how’ and ‘why’ this happened and if it isn’t diffused properly the no-story snowballs even more.

Even if this somehow goes away and/or the State people are able to laugh it off I’m sure Wral is feverishly putting the finishing touches on a 4-night expose about how NC State athletics fosters an atmosphere of political dissent and how black athletes that attend State are encouraged to develop internalized racism. The only solution of course is re-education through media purification. Wral investigates.

Is someone YOU know expressing original thought or individualistic ideals and not properly subscribing to groupthink? Report them to Wral.

    I’m with Plywood here.

You men the one where arciwhatever pushed off twice?

Speaking of push off, I encourage everyone to take another look at the Nova possession after the Lacey turnover. Nova got the ball down 2 and wanted to get the ball to the hot guy – Hilliard. Lee was on Hilliard.

Hilliard had to work hard to get the ball, and then when he did get it Lee gave him absolutely no space no matter what Hilliard tried – including a push off. It was phenomenal footwork and defensive pressure. They did get an open look out of Ennis, but it wasn’t their first option – Hilliard. If Hilliard does get loose there we may all be singing a different tune today.

That was an absolute clutch and outstanding defensive sequence from Dez Lee that helped to save the game.

Yeah, just looked at their schedule this season. Good wins vs Notre Dame, Wichita St, and Iowa

Minor correction (I’m being that guy) – they did not play Notre Dame.

Schedule was rather lacking. 17 wins vs. 150+

Just giving you a hard time 😉

Oklahoma is Lon Kruger solid … OU-Dayton gonna be a fun match-up. Dayton will have the crowd on their side.

Sparty > Okie…but I know nothing about Northern Iowa, so hard to say. They might be ridiculously good.

According to Stat God, they’re (UNI) one of the best defensive teams in the country. And they are a really solid team. Watch the Louisville-UNI game if you’re able, even though it could be all-time ugly.

UNI is what Brad Brownell wishes Clemson could be.

Everybody writing Michigan State into the Final Four already is absolutely fine by me. By all means, let them be the team talked about and narrative built around.

Were a State-State match-up to happen, I think we match up with them well … if we respond to their physicality.

Trice is a good player, but he makes some poor decisions … Plus we have one of those really good defending guards.

I feel bad for Virginia … I really do.

Sparty has a couple of games to play before they’re in Indianapolis, Grant.

My bracket is shite. I had ISU in the F4.

    Lennard Freeman

“I was like, ‘Who is C.J. Leslie? Why aren’t they talking about Rich?'” Freeman said with a laugh. “Rich is my idol.”

Well worth the read if you haven’t already seen it.

Literally the only thing I’ve seen said about it are State fans complaining about people complaining about it.

Haha fair point … I saw some stuff on his twitter feed, and that it was trending on the mainstream sports sites … which I thought was stupid and unfortunate. But oh wells.

Was wondering where you were … was hoping I hadn’t run you off along with many others haha
