Pack9 tops the Deacs again on Saturday, 10-2.
They go for the sweep Monday evening at 6pm, ESPNU.State is now tied with Pitt for the #10 slot (11-15), one game back of Wake (12-14)
In his final start at Doak Field, Carlos Rodon scatters 4 hits over 7.0 innings, giving up 1 run (0 earned) and striking out 9 as the Pack takes down Wake in game one by a 9-1 final.
Almost ashamed to admit that I have yet to even check to see who the Ravens wasted a pick on. I’m glad to hear that they’ll get a chance to pound Johnny Football twice per year though.

I don’t remember the girlfriend rumors specifically either, but I do remember that it seemed there was some sort of weird vibe surrounding his transfer.
The short answer? He’s a Carolina homer trying to sound like he’s not.
He’s giving the standard mea culpas which are unavoidable at this point if he wants to be taken seriously (or at least what passes for “seriously” over there), but in the end it’s nothing more than a rephrasing of “Rogues” and “Nothing more to see here”.
He even went out of his way to paint Jay Smith as a psuedo-vigilante. I surprised he was able to write it without mention of Mary Willingham or Dan Kane. Though I’d bet money they were in the rough drafts at some point.
As far as his title, I think it’s pretty telling. Notice he called it an “athletics scandal”? Whoopsie.

And honestly, thinking thru all the scenarios is making my head hurt. Hopefully we can take care of business and avoid any scenario where UMd potentially might have one last chance to screw us over before they depart the league.Bastards.
If State and Clemson finish with the same number of victories, my assumption/guess is that Clemson would finish above State since they have fewer losses (even though State won the series with the Tigers)…but I could be wrong.
You are not wrong. Clemson and UMd are both short a game due to a rain out in their series, thus barring an NCSU rain out against either Wake or VT, we cannot finish tied with either Clemson or UMd. In the case of Clemson that’s probably a moot point anyway since they close out @ND and vsBC.
But the series win over the Tiggs could still be pertinent, and them finishing against a weak schedule and padding some wins could be a good thing for us. If we do happen to finish tied with Pitt, we’ll need Clemson to finish ahead of both Duke and GT for us to win that tie breaker with Pitt.
