That the was the three worst innings of baseball, in a single game, that I have ever seen in my life. Period. I am very sorry for the players and the fans that spent good money go out and see it. Yeah, I lost some sleep and will recover but it will be a long time before I forget that mess. I’m sure we set many new records (and not good ones). My fear this that we will endure this loss for a long time with announcers and opposing teams. If I’m a prospective recruit, you bet I’m thinking that I would rather play with a team that earns sprinkles on their ice cream. Regarding Avent, I think he’s got to own this one.
WolftownVA81ParticipantThat’s all she wrote. Good season guys but the better team won tonight. Life of a Wolfpacker.
WolftownVA81ParticipantDidn’t have it tonight. At least we get another chance.
WolftownVA81ParticipantGood night all or one. See ya tomorrow.
WolftownVA81ParticipantI’d settle for extra innings.
WolftownVA81ParticipantOk, six more runs to go.
WolftownVA81ParticipantThree outs left. We got them where we want them now.
WolftownVA81ParticipantGo gotta be kidding. Another huge hit with two outs for TCU.
WolftownVA81Participant……and out base stolen too.
WolftownVA81ParticipantOut hit and out pitched tonight. Hope we can pull it together tomorrow night. Need to just stop the bleeding and end this.
WolftownVA81ParticipantWhere are those Whooooooos now TCU? Pack scores finally.
WolftownVA81ParticipantOn the corners……no outs and so the comeback begins.
WolftownVA81ParticipantHere we go. Got something going.
WolftownVA81ParticipantThought of going to bed as well but you never know. At some point, maybe this pitcher will wear out.
WolftownVA81ParticipantSorta looks like we came in with a best of three mentality and they came in knowing it was win or go home.
WolftownVA81ParticipantJust saw where it took the NCAA 18 minutes to update there site and the game is now on at 8:35. They must have a slow internet too.
WolftownVA81ParticipantHas the game been delayed?
WolftownVA81ParticipantA very exciting game last light. I was real proud of how the team kept their emotions in check after that play at home plate though maybe the announcers were making more of it than it was. I did think we got cheated out of one base hit on that play at first but otherwise a decently called game if you discount a few of the ball/strike calls on both teams. I was able to stream it ok but had to refresh many times due to slow internet in the 7 and 8th. Fortunately, I got a strong signal in the 9th and was able to enjoy the great come from behind victory. They were a tough team and I think I’d rather see us face Stony Brook again. Thanks for posted this. Go Pack and congratulations a great win.
WolftownVA81ParticipantIf you have a laptop, or computer that is close to your TV, try going to the ESPN3 site first then it should prompt you as to which cable service you have. I have Dish TV and except for the slow speed, due to being satellite internet, it works ok. Just connect your computer to the TV with a RGB cable once you have it over the internet. You will have to change your input source on the TV which is typically done with the buttons on the side of screen.
WolftownVA81ParticipantI read them all yesterday and did a great deal of reflection. Then on the spur of the moment, went to the little Vietnam War Foundation and Museum next door in Green County. It was started by two Vets and staffed with volunteers. It is very well done and worth the trip if you are in the area. Vietnam War Foundation
WolftownVA81ParticipantThanks for the tribute. I salute all veterans but today is definitely reserved for those who made the ultimate sacrifice. To that idiot radio announcer who stupidly commented “I’m over all this military appreciation” during ACC Championship game 13 on Saturday, I would ask – and what have you done for your country? Some people just don’t know when to keep there random thoughts to themselves.
WolftownVA81ParticipantJust got back from Durham. A disappointing outcome but a great effort. I haven’t had the opportunity to watch much baseball this year but I really like this team and the way they pull for each other. Saturday night was really fun. The guys were playing loose and it seemed like we were in a very good spot for today. However, as mentioned, FSU pitching and where the balls landed were two factors working against us all day. Today, we were not the better team. On the to the NCAAs. Good luck pack.
WolftownVA81ParticipantThanks for the update. I watched the Friday night game on ESPN and we were so close to winning that one. Appears to be a pretty talented group just have to work on some of those basic skills (bunting). I did see some great base running.
WolftownVA81ParticipantIn the Northern part of Central VA, just east of the Blue Ridge, our last day for Frost is May 7th so I’ve got out all the hardy stuff like potatoes, cabbage (red and green), yellow onions, Kale (wintered over and getting ready to pick), a few turnips (nobody eats em but me, same with beets, and lettuce. The asparagus will be popping up soon. A tip for those that don’t know you can get a fall crop of asparagus as well if you mow it down in early Sept. Just have to fertilize a little over the winter to make up for the nutrient loss. I’m trying to go all Heirloom but some of the stuff don’t taste exactly right. Can’t find a good tomato to replace better boys. In the window, my red, green and jalapeno peppers are starting to come up. That’s all I started inside this year. Since changing jobs and traveling less, I hope to revive my once robust 40 x 80 foot garden.
And I did watch the Captain as a kid and Willard Scott as Ronald McDonald as well on the local TV channel (think it was 5 in DC.)
CD, hope Gov. Jerry’s water rationing don’t put the kabash on your garden.
WolftownVA81ParticipantFeel bad for the wiscy kids. they played a hell of a game.
