Wolfpackjack76Participant
GC, Fall 72 thru spring 76 myself. Golden years indeed. Kicked butts in almost every sport. I was at every home game for the 74 team. If you’ll recall they had a lottery for the 100 student tickets to the final four…only thing I’ve ever won but I was in Greensboro for the Championship! So glad to see things starting to look up for us again.
Wolfpackjack76Participantuncheats response due by May 16, 2017. But don’t worry, it’ll all be over by August 16-17 when COI meet. Yeah, right.
Debbie Crowder and NCAA did their song and dance show this past week (behind closed doors).
-another delay attempt? With Boxill and others to follow?
-desperate move by uncheats? just to see what sticks on wall?
-staged by ncaa and uncheats? to give ncaa an excuse to remove LOIC?
-ncaa dotting i’s and crossing t’s? before hammer drops? yeah, rightThere are two things that absolutely amaze me thru this whole sh*tstorm. If you have insight, please enlighten me.
1. How has Wayne Walden remained so almost invisible? He was a main creator, instigator, and orchestrator of the whole Af-Am sham…even dating back to Kansas. Would it not make sense to subpoena him or at least just have a conversation with him? And after all, he was royboy’s most valuable staff member. (ohhhh, now I see…Wayne would hang royboy…that’s roy’s connection)
2. Where is the NAACP? IMHO this is one of the most egregious uses of a subject and students (black, white, pink, etc) that can be imagined. One could speculate that it was chosen specifically because of its PC sensitive nature makes it somewhat of a hide-behind. It would seem that this is a perfect venue for the NAACP to respond to and investigate.
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantAnd not just the ones that were sanctioned.
As I posted earlier:
“Why has every coach, AD, and dean across the country got their head in the sand (or somewhere else)? Surely there’s a few that feel their program could withstand a retaliatory investigation by the ncaa. Shouldn’t there be a tremendous uprising of outcry and protest???!!!I know if had one of those positions, I’d be raising holy hell!
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantFrom what I read here Rick is correct:
“The NCAA didn’t just revise the notice of allegations against North Carolina during the eight-month intermission in this interminable process. Between August and April, the NCAA somehow revised its entire approach to the scandal.
Out went the broad allegations of impermissible academic assistance that included football and men’s basketball, among other sports. In its place, the revised NOA received from the NCAA on Monday takes a far narrower reading of NCAA bylaws, one that instead drops a sledgehammer on the women’s basketball program and that program alone.”

Here’s your next question, Rick…or whoever can answer it for me: Why has every coach, AD, and dean across the country got their head in the sand (or somewhere else)? Surely there’s a few that feel their program could withstand a retaliatory investigation by the ncaa. Shouldn’t there be a tremendous uprising of outcry and protest???!!!
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantIt’s official…Amended NOA received in chapel hell according to multiple news sources.
Still gonna be dragging but the popcorn sure is tasting a lot better.
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantRick, Just to clarify: I wasn’t complaining…remember I said “just wondering”
This is my favorite website and I appreciate all the time and effort you guys put into making it happen.
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantHere’s a good one for you…
Of course we remember the ’83 Dereck to Lo “pass”. Now think of how many times we’ve seen that replayed in the last 33 years and the warm and happy feelings it stirs in the heart each and every time we see it!
Now think of how many times Kris Jenkins’ buzzer beater will be replayed over the next umpteen years and think of those cold and icy dagger to the heart feelings the tar holes will experience each and every time they see it!
PS. FWIW: I gotta have faith in the “Dog” He has me confident that Thor WILL be coming to town (chapel hell)
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantAny particular reason my comment wasn’t posted? Just wondering.
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantSeemingly roy did know specifics and actually helped initiate the whole afam farce…while he was in Kansas. My understanding (misunderstanding?) is that roy and his MOST important staff member, wayne walden, set this program up in their 15 years together at Kansas.
roy shared the info with dean and dean started the program at unx. When roy came to unx everything was already in place. I cannot remember the source but when I read it I thought it reliable. I do not believe this is my lunatic fringe dream…if it is I apologize.
And just where the hell is mr. wonderful wayne walden (tx hiding out!) The man who roy described as “the best I have ever seen about staying on top of things and on top of kids. He is totally devoted to our players and to what they are doing in the classroom.” Shouldn’t THE academic advisor for roy’s first 6 years at unx be consulted (or made to consult)?
And I’m done. I remind myself over and over that the level of my serenity is inversely proportional to my level of expectations…which at this point I have none except for womens bb going under the bus. PacofMac said it “the slap on their hands will sting far less than the slap in the face…
Enough stinging for me. Let’s just go out on the field/court and beat their asses and everybody else’s too. Go Pack!
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantWolfpackjack76ParticipantReport: UNC finalizing coach Roy Williams’ contract extension
ESPN?Most of the comments on the article were quite nauseating but I tend to agree with the idea that this is unx giving a giant middle finger to the world. And, obviously, they (the unx powers that be) have seen the unredacted version of the noa.
How is it that roy is so sickeningly untouchable?
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantExactly what I said, Johngalt. The only thing that I take exception to is the fact that actually ol roy and ww masterminded and started all this bs in Kansas. deano went to visit and brought afam back to unx. when ol roy came to unx HIS program was already in place. K State fans should do some digging. Gotta hand it to ol roy…he’s slicker than owl s***
So yeah, they might lose a few schollies and maybe even miss a post season. But aint no wins or banners lost. And there SHOULD be 3 banners coming down.
Further reading on how roy and his ncaa and espn cronies set this up to avoid vacating wins and removing banners here:
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantCertainly wbb needs to go down. The travesty is that they are the only ones going down
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantOh yeah, there’s a hammer…for women’s basketball. They’re under the bus while everyone else walks away with a s*** eating grin on their face. Roy and his dadgum cronies are yukking it up right now. Nothing to see here…sad but true…Nothing to see here but wbb going down. What a horrific travesty.
Wolfpackjack76Participantthis:
Move ahead, put it in the pastDoes it seem like we say that alot, or is just me?
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantVery true. But it’s uncheat’s mantra.
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantI don’t get espnu. Anybody know of a stream?
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantDefinitely not wanting to step on any toes here because certainly we’re on the same team. This is just an FYI:
As a father of two children born at the same time (actually 28 minutes apart–one natural, one C-section) I am very aware that “twins” are usually very sensitive to the fact that they are indeed their very own different and distinct persons. Perhaps it would be more respectful of them as valued individuals of Wolfpack Nation for us to avoid the “twin 1” and “twin 2” labeling. Just study their appearance (yes, mine were supposedly identical…but not), their movement, their personality and if that all fails…Caleb and Cody did do us a favor by not having the same number.
Go Pack and let’s beat some tar hole butt!!!
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantWolfpackjack76ParticipantAnd here’s more dirt swept under the rug by unc/Wanstein:
It seems that our “Ms Super Ethics” Jan Boxill was a bigger player than Wanstein would have us believe. Not only was she a steerer, she was also a steeree. In addition to sending students to AFAM, she taught over 160 philosophy courses in 8 years that were…you guessed it…”independent studies”. “Public records show Boxill would sometimes offer multiple students independent study courses each semester; for example, in spring 2005 she taught 20. UNC’s Public Records Office would not distinguish how many students enrolled in Boxill’s independent studies were student-athletes.” Spring 2005…imagine that! What a coincidence!
The articles included many explicitly incriminating emails, etc. Deadspin concluded with:
“But it’s notable that investigators never probed the content of Boxill’s courses, and that the Wainstein report never even mentioned that athletes were steered to her classes when they needed high grades. The report itself portrayed an AFAM department gone rogue, operating outside the awareness of UNC’s top administrators, the scandal confined to a few maverick faculty members. But the actual documents suggest that the problems were more widespread. Those documents, for whatever reason, weren’t deemed fit to go into the report.”
I was wondering why we haven’t heard much about this and it occurred to me that 160 is a pretty insignificant number when compared with 3100. I guess we’ll never hear of the Comm, ROTC, cars, houses, tickets etc etc.
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantSorry. Link didn’t work. Just google antawn calls rashad a clown.
Wolfpackjack76Participantantawn jumps on rashad?
From all accounts Antawn seems to be an ok guy…but…help me out here. Was he not the guy who’s parent(s) all of a sudden moved into a $45o,000 home with 2 luxury vehicles titled to that address in chapel hell while he was still in school? Maybe it was someone else. I guess it could have been a lot of the players haha. Anyway, if any of you guys remember…let me know. Thanks
Wolfpackjack76ParticipantStan and Radman, same here…Harrelson welcomed me to the world of real schooling with 8 AM Calc. Prof by the name of Huneycutt (one of the few prof’s names I remember). Halfway thru the first quiz a fellow student raised their hand and asked “Do you realize that the last part of the quiz is from the next section?” I will never forget his s***-eating grin as he obnoxiously said “of course, I felt that you should be able to do it from what we covered in this section.” Had aced math all high school and barely pulled a D. That was before standardized tests.
In fairness to H Hall my favorite prof was there as well. History 3?? the guy drew stick figures of Egyptians and told funny stories about the Nile, etc. Really made a “dry” subject interesting and fun.
And am I the only perv on here or the only honest one??? At the mention of H Hall the first thing that “pops up” in my mind are the ramps and the skirts. Skirts/dresses were phasing out even then but there was still quite a few around. Gave this 18 year old a stiff…neck.
