Well, that was disheartening, to say the least.. Hard to mine even the smallest nugget of hope moving forward. Gonna be a long cold winter. It’s been a long time coming. It’s going to be a long long long long time before the dawn.

Nine threes. They can’t repeat that w/o Farrell, but maybe they can. B.OTB is right. Batts (Jr.) loves his shot like A. Freeman does. We need to get hot in 2nd half to avoid the bloodletting.

Just doing some stat checking…Allerik is 66-189 on FG% (.349%). That is 60 more shots than the next highest shooter, Dorn, who is 71-129 (.550%). On 3 pt shooting Allerik is 24-81 (.296%). That’s 21 more threes than the next highest, Beverly at 22-60 (.367).

Granted, not having Markel plays into it to a small degree, but Markel has only missed 4 games. The point is, we may need Allerik on the floor more now, but we don’t need him taking so many errant shots and we need him to be more of a team player. One would think that might have been expressed to him by KK at this point. I don’t know, he seems to have no conscience on offense. Driving the lane against three bigs doesn’t seem to be working for him.

Well, with their best player out, there is a prayer for us. Maybe Allerick will hit 40% of the 25 threes he takes, and the rest of the crew will equal him on their 25 threes, we might, just might pull one out. It’s a plan. Not a good plan, but a plan none-the-less.

Drink had a most excellent day, today.. He kept ASU off balance with his mixture of run and pass play calls..The lucky dog has the QB and the offensive players to pull that olio off.. Come on, Finley, Samuels, Hines, Gallaspie, Louis, Harmon, Jakobi et.al.. We don’t suck.. Want to talk about defense?

Hopefully, our kicking issues may clear up next season with the recruitment of Chris Dunn from Lexington. From what I read he was rated by kicking guru, Chris Sailer, as the number 5 placekicker nationally in the 2018 class.

He was also picked to play in the Carolinas Shrine Bowl as well as the Offense-Defense All American Bowl 12-30-17 in New Orleans.

    Freshmanin83,
I believe that you are correct. It was the college Grill run by a guy called Red, hence those of us who were regulars just called it Red’s. Thanks for clearing that up for me. Senility is a bitch.

Maybe someone remembers, or perhaps it was just a figment of my imagination – that is completely possible given the times. I recall a very narrow-shaped on the inside, small, down and out type bar named Red’s on Hillsborough Ave. I’m going back to 1972-76. Not always filled with us then- student-kids. Red cooked the burgers on a black pepper covered grill. An original equal opportunity chef, he was. Both the beers and burgers were cheap, as well as excellent. My room mate and I used to go down there back in those stone ages, and crush a few burgers and beer. Alright, more than a few, but it was a great place for a tasty inexpensive meal and buzz. Does anyone recall Red’s? What happened to Red’s? Anyone?

At any rate, Merry Christmas to all Wolfpackerssssss

Putting in the walk-ons could only build esprit de corps.. Give them incentive to practice as hard as they can..They could not have possibly lost that game in the last 5 minutes and the rewards for them getting 5 minutes would have been significant. That said I like KK, I just believe he missed a good opportunity for, really, nothing of more value.

KK should have put the walk-ons in with 5 minutes left and a 50 plus lead…JMO

Anyone got any ideas or know why Brent Venables’ name isn’t in the mix? Looks to have great potential.

Our old buddy Jamie Luckie appears to still love to call fouls on State. Some things never change.

Our 3 pt shooting is not good, to be polite. We were 35 out of 122 coming into this game (.287) and I believe we are 0-7 so far today.
