I understand that Cremmins wants a good game, but he seems to be outright rooting for the Noles. Probably took FSU and the point at home…

For all of you late night Pack golf fans, that jackass, cheshire cat grinn’, light in the loafers Georgia Tech goofball Matt Kuchar just took the lead away from Clark. Worse yet, the Demon Deac Simpson is one stroke ahead of Tim…I’m disappointed in his defense…Looks like Carl missed the cut at minus two..Aloha, Carl…

As of this moment, former NCSU golfer Tim Clark sits atop the leaderboard at the Sony Open in Hawaii. Clark followed yesterday’s 5 under 65 with the identical score today to lead by one at 10 under. But, it is just 12:00pm on the island and numerous players have yet to tee off, including yesterday’s leaders Paul Casey and the Wake Forest boy Webb Simpson. NCSU alum Carl Pettersson hasn’t fared as well as Clark and is 2 under for the day and on the cut line at 1 under through 16 holes after struggling to an opening round 1 over 71 yesterday.

Speaking of alternative student publications, does anyone remember “The State Sentinel”? I still have a few issues of it. One in particular is the 3-23-74 NCAA Basketball Special Edition which featured full page black and white drawings of Sloan, Thompson, Towe, and Burleson. They competed with the Technician for awhile, and I recall the back and forth between the two in their issues. Funny stuff back then.

^Jamarcus Russell, Christian Ponder, and E.J. Manuel were all mentored by Jimbo Fisher, so you may have something there. The number one pick of the draft stands to rake in about 25M guaranteed. I can’t see giving that to Jameis based upon his character and immaturity. Can his ego and sense of entitlement get any larger? We’ll find out. Hopefully, Bucs GM Jason Licht passes on both Jameis and Marcus and trades the pick with the intent of rebuilding the offensive line. No QB would have been successful behind that line this past season. Absolutely no one. If the offensive line is rebuilt, then quite possibly the Bucs already have their QB in #8. Go Mikey!

Tyndall has made chicken soup out of chicken poop in his first year.. He was dealt a fold hand. Kudos for his accomplishment. However, I question his strategy. His non-invasive zone press for three quarters of the game didn’t yield a turnover, and he ended up sacrificing wide open threes and dunks. Yet he stuck with it. With three minutes to go down by 6 or 8 they ran 28 seconds off the shot clock, and got nothing..they simply didn’t assert themselves offensively…good win for the Pack .. a nice bounce back..

As for FSU, losing leading scorer and best defender Aaron Thomas, certainly didn’t help Leonard Hamilton’s plight. Thomas had already missed two games (for dizzyness) prior to being ruled ineligible for the remainder of the season by FSU last week.

BitPay, the Atlanta-based company that paid 1.5 million over 3 years ( a large portion in Bitcoins) to ESPN Events (an ESPN subsidiary) to sponsor the St.Petersburg Bowl partnered with Trucoin to have 5 Bitcoin ATMs in and around the Trop. Ferg’s Bar will take them as payment for food and beverages as will a few other joints close to RaysWorld. BTW, the dude, Antonio Gallippi, he is BitPay, has a questionable past….but who’s asking? Dance with the currency that brought you…

Lakewood High School coach Cory Moore plans to bring his team to the game. Marques Valdes-Scantling’s former high school coach said: “It’s a wonderful chance to see young guys they’ve actually touched before and how they’ve transitioned. It gives our young guys a standard, something to shoot for.” Hopefully more high school coaches in Florida will do the same.

On another note, here is an interesting human interest story about a kid from Jarvis “the rabbit catcher” Byrd’s (#1) hometown of Pahokee, FL. I’ve been to Pahokee many times, and I’m truly amazed at what some of these young men have accomplished, especially Jarvis with his ACL setbacks.
It’s a good read. Give it a shot if you have a little time.

“The stadium, from what I understand is a dog pile…”

If you’ve never been to the Trop, I believe that you’ll be pleasantly surprised. While it was built with baseball in mind only, is is adequate for football. The Trop gets a good deal of bad press which, coming from someone who has been to too many Rays games to count, is somewhat undeserving. The main complaint, and realistically the only valid complaint, is the complaint about the four circular catwalks above the field. Batted balls do occasionally make contact with the rings, but it is not an every game occurrence. Other stadiums have their nuances also such as ivy, green monsters, and hills in center field. Regardless, the rings do not come into play in football.

The Trop has clear lines of sight throughout, an abundance of food sites and choices, a large variety of beer options, and restrooms close to all aisles. There are numerous other amenities such as the Rays Tank, the Captain Morgan Deck, the Party Deck, Bay Grill, Center Field Street, Brew House Express and a newly completed 360 degree walkway inside the seating area. It has a genuine party atmosphere.

Here is the football set up:

Well, at least weather won’t be an issue as Tropicana Field (home of the Tampa Bay Rays) is always a comfy constant 72 degrees. Before and after the game, Ferg’s is a very popular sports bar (with good food) that is located at 1320 Central Ave- just a one block walk to and from The Trop. They also have game day parking, but usually a bit more costly than the stadium. Parking there (limited) does make leaving a bit easier. Ferg’s should be jam-packed with hundreds of fans. The place is very large and accommodating. It should be an excellent game, and a good time for all.

    M. Valdes-Scantling went to Lakewood High, just 4 -5 miles south of the Trop. Lakewood has already promised to bring a large crowd. Lakewood has had an excellent program for quite a while. The Pack may be helped in recruiting in the Central-West Florida area.

Metaphorically speaking, This “Hole” sordid, UNC- academic-herpes-virus thing that has them all blistered up, wasn’t a case of running into the kicker, as the Cheats would have you believe. No, no, they intentionally roughed the God of Truth – viciously, and they know it…yet they’ll never, ever admit it… Wrath, payback, neckties, high voltage….. Die, Hole bitchezzzzz..
