Strange year. Perhaps some of the greatest individual talent surrounded by a lot of players that are either not ready or just not cut out for it.
That is ALL on the players. That was a full blown mental melt down. TJs focus was somewhere COMPLETELY out of Orlando.
Ok. New low in NC State lore. Should have been in the NIT. NCAA teams are not big pussies like our guys are.
We are in real trouble. We should put Cat and TL in together. Reverse the ball and we could get numbers with a different PG with the ball in his hand. Question is will Gott play it conservative with the low ball handling/better shooting outfit.
Cat just doesn’t do half court sets. He just doesn’t have the feel for it yet. We need “Tuesday” Tyler Lewis to pull this out.
Also read that S Jarvis Byrd has had medical hardship waiver put in by State. I’m thinking the 30% doesn’t bode well but that the NCAA may be lenient due to all the subsequent years he has missed due to different injuries.
Man, did our rushing defense suck once he got hurt. He was our best open field tackler bar none (not that it was all that high a bar set).
Crisp must still have his eyes on the prize. He may not be low round NFL draft stock but if he can prove himself physically fit this fall then he stands to get paid playing somewhere on Sunday. His head injury sounded real bad but we weren’t in those Dr offices with Big Rob and family.
I haven’t watched Doug McDermott play much, but I ask, if you were a GM who would you take?
They are vastly different specimens but have a lot of similarities IMO.
Nice to play strong in the second half. Obviously Buckets was unstoppable, but it wouldn’t have been enough if not for the play of Frenchie and Cat.
Would like to see Bobby Lutz move on.
He is somehow worshipped by many though he collects a HUGE salary as an assistant to do only scouting work to set up the defenses.
Thats his job and Gott has been extremely loyal (that and many donors like Lutz more than Gott).
Is it O.K. to ask what the hell good Lutz is as an assistant coach if when we think of weaknesses the first thing is defense?
Last dip in Greensboro ACC style just now. Pack men finish the championship swimming like they started by dominating the relays.
We end up finishing second to Virginia Tech because of Diving-we only had one diver and he did not score well. Oh well, tons of fun and State set tons of school records and ACC ones too.
Great job by second year coach and alum Brandon Halloway and his team.
