1st qtr summary….Miami defense >> State’s offense and Miami offense > State defense. Offense has to pick up the pace or the defense is going to get worn out. Defense has to get closer to the Miami receivers and cut down on the easy pitch/catches.

Pack D bends but holds in the Red Zone…

Translation….the receiver was open on third down, but tripped over his own feet.

TV coverage is really strange. Phoenix has an ACC network station and I got to watch the slip/slide show against ND. Who would have thought?

I live ~3 hours from CF and have to watch this game on ESPN3 because Hoo’ville is much closer.

    – Those that think the current welfare system is affordable or is doing anything to eliminate poverty.

What’s your cheaper solution that works?

Mexicans are illegally flooding the country to do jobs that those on welfare won’t do. So there’s the first place to start. Here’s another approach:

    http://profoundlydisconnected.com/

    ARE YOU PROFOUNDLY DISCONNECTED®?

    * A trillion dollars in student loans.
    * Record high unemployment.
    * Three million good jobs that no one seems to want.

The mikeroweWORKS Foundation started the Profoundly Disconnected® campaign to challenge the absurd belief that a four-year degree is the only path to success.

Since LBJ and the Great Society, we’ve let two generations of people conclude that the government owes them a living. So pouring more money into a black hole isn’t going to fix the problem. Education/training and personal responsibility are the only way to get out of the mess we’ve (or our parents) created.

I have flipped back and forth between Louisville V Houston and NO v CAR. Louisville looks like US when we went to the Card’s home.

I was doing the same. Both games were blowouts until the Panthers tried to choke another game away. But luckily for Panther fans, NO wouldn’t accept the gifts. There are obvious reasons both teams have losing records.

I don’t have much effort for debating either of two positions:
    – Those that don’t have any sympathy for the less fortunate, especially children.
    – Those that think the current welfare system is affordable or is doing anything to eliminate poverty.

A system that rewards a family without a husband/father or for having more children, will certainly get both.

Again, in order for this team to break out of Gott’s ceiling, they will have to rebound better (which they didn’t do last night) or create more turnovers through better d.

I don’t disagree….but do you really expect it?

State has a lot of different pieces this year and Gott will have to figure out how to put them together. From everything I’ve read, everyone is expecting a pretty easy OOC schedule. Hopefully that’s true and the team/coaches will use that to work out the kinks before the real season starts on Dec 31 @ Miami.

An offense that consists of little more than slinging up three’s will not win much in the ACC. If offense is Gott’s strength and what I saw last night was his offensive plan, then this year will turn ugly quick. I’m hoping with a young team that last night was more of a learning experience than a predictor of the season.

I predicted 37-3 this season and I had this one as a win, so I’m happy about that.

Enjoy your streak while it lasts….because it won’t last long.

That wasn’t the same team we saw in the scrimmage or the two exhibitions.

You can’t play with yourself and/or Div2 teams all year.

No competent nominating committee I know would offer up either of today’s presidential candidates to America’s “board of directors” – the American voter.

    http://www.foxbusiness.com/politics/2016/11/08/rnc-and-dnc-have-failed-us.html

I’ve thought throughout the campaign that if either party had nominated a competent candidate, then last night would have looked like 1980.

My parents went to Raleigh that weekend and the younger brother got them tickets to the game. My mom still talks about it.

I moved back to the east coast in Dec ’86 and my brother got us tickets to the Peach Bowl. Dick Sheridan and Erik Kramer made it easy to forget the Reed era.

^^ Everyone should subscribe to cylonwolf’s youtube channel. He has a lot of football and basketball games that are worth re-watching (well not as many as I would like, but he/she only has so much to work with).

Good teams make the big plays when they’re needed. State can’t even make what should be easy plays when they’re needed. That’s where I start drawing conclusions.

The exhibition game isn’t showing up on the TuneIn Radio app on my phone. Since the app just buffers/transmits the radio broadcast, I was hoping that it would.

The basketball schedule at gopack.com has a “watch” and “listen” button for the game. No clue what either option entails.

the absolute refusal to put McClendon in with a different offensive scheme.

I draw a conclusion from that fact that is far different than yours. Coaches won’t keep their jobs long if they’re not playing the best that they have.

I live in Winston and it’s quite an obligation even to do a “wolf” or “pack” package. And those seats were too far away for a 2 hour trip in a half empty arena.

The top ring of seats, you can’t give away. All rows are too close, front to back. My knees are pressed hard into the seat in front. Not comfy at all. HD 4K is toooo good!

When the product on the court consistently fails to meet expectations, then it is inevitable for these types of evaluations to be made. Even if you could wave a magic wand and make the empty lower deck problem disappear, I don’t see a huge increase in attendance with more results like we’ve seen since V.

Hopefully more will show up if the product on the court is as advertised.

It will take more than an unexpected S-16 appearance to generate interest in consistently buying seats requiring a telescope to see the court.

But we probably need to put this whole issue into perspective. Ever since moving basketball off campus, State has been in the Top-25 nationwide in attendance EVERY YEAR, including Sid’s tenure. So I’m confident that attendance issues will be resolved once the product on the court justifies it.

After last year’s injury-plagued Wolfpack missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time in his five seasons, Gottfried hit the recruiting trail for several spring additions while reshaping a coaching staff that had been intact since his arrival in Raleigh. Now N.C. State has two new assistants and a roster featuring a top-10 national recruiting class along with key returnees — a mix that could get N.C. State back into the NCAAs.

Wow. 17-0 at the end of the first quarter as I left the hotel for the flight home. Swore I wouldn’t look again. Wish I had kept to that, but I had to check when I got to the gate.

I expected three ass-kickings in a row. They avoided the first two, but couldn’t dodge this one.

I hope I am wrong, but I expect to see a lot more of the same “defense” that was on display against ECU.
