Until someone decides iwhatever you own is offensive. The PC police are again running down a slippery slope. No one seems to care, until they are the target of those same people. Not everything is a slippery slope. This isn’t even physical property.
As far as the PC police….<br>
I’ve noticed no one wants to address the question, would you call a native american a redskin? Nobody cares if it was meant to honor a dude that probably wasn’t even native american.Simple yes or no question, would you use it to refer to a person or people (outside of the football team)?
I would not use it to refer to a person or people. Good thing the Redskins are not doing that, either. It’s a FOOTBALL team. Nothing more, nothing less.
TruthBKnown ReturnsParticipantSome blog posts are definitely better with pictures. 🙂
TruthBKnown ReturnsParticipantThat Russell kid might turn out to be pretty good one day.
Nah, he’ll never succeed in the NFL. He’s too small to be an NFL quarterback.
TruthBKnown ReturnsParticipantI believe in climate change. It is winter. Soon it will be spring, then summer, then fall, and if all goes as expected, it will then change once again to winter.
TruthBKnown ReturnsParticipantMy comment may seem off-topic because it is not about our football schedule. But in the article, recruiting was discussed. And I wanted to address that to see what others think… I read today that we have 30 recruits for the 2014 recruiting class. I thought 25 was the annual limit, with exceptions for players that arrive early and can be counted against the previous year’s total.
With so many recruits coming in, are we looking at “pulling a Butch”, and forcing out some players so we can bring in better replacements? I remember giving Hole fans heat about that, and now I’m thinking we might just be doing that same sort of thing.
No, I’m not a Hole in Wolf’s clothing. I’m not slamming us, I’m just asking because I don’t want to give someone a hard time for this when we might be doing the exact same thing.
TruthBKnown ReturnsParticipant“Now that PJ Hairston is no long enrolled, he cannot be compelled to speak to the NCAA. How convenient.”
Sure he can… if he really is unhappy. From this WRAL article:
“Following UNC’s decision not to seek reinstatement for Hairston, his family issued a statement that read, ‘We are displeased with the University of North Carolina’s decision not to submit the necessary paperwork to the NCAA requesting to have P.J. reinstated. This process has been long, and for it to end without having a final decision from the governing body is a shame.’”
But I suspect he’s on the payroll now, and it is more than enough to keep him happy… and his mouth SHUT.
