Concerns yes, but not throwing the towel and raising the money for a contract buyout. At least this team can get the ball over half court against the press.

Yesterday I was looking at a ’72-’73 Pack BB media guide. It seems the pre conference season opponents are on the same level today. So the meme of not playing anyone tough pre conference is not a new thing. What is different is that team won all – and in fact all other than Guthridge and the NCAA. This year’s team is not the equal of course but I do see promise. I also see losses if they don’t come ready to play.

I agree with Rick. Discussing issues is not throwing in the towel. I personally am heartened by what I have seen overall but it isn’t perfect yet.

Rye – Y7 has played better than Abu ever did? Prove that with stats from conference play. Yes he has improved greatly but I think you have been drinking a bit much here.

I have not thrown in the towel either but yes there are issues. There are both pros and cons this year. I see a lot of good and some bad. Offense against a zone it in the bad category. Lack of focus at times on defense (but at least the team now actually plays some defense). I wonder if the disruption from the Johnson suspension started this downward spiral or if it is a product of oddly timed games coupled with the Johnson issue. Being year one I’m willing to ride the storm but I do see choppy waves ahead.

One seems to forget the out of conference preseason schedule that the Thompson teams played – Buffalo State? Of course they won those games. You don’t win consistently and you are fish wrap.

Unlike football a single player often makes the difference. At times yes the same applies to football but not that often. Yesterday the Spartans were the better team. Maybe it is one of those loses that makes a difference in attitude or maybe foreshadowing. There we shall see.

Yes Grey it looks very much like two sides of the coin. UNC-G with experience ans with quality play. The Pack not as much experience and looked rattled for most of the second half. I wonder how much Markel’s suspension played into that? As mentioned previously the Pack has not done well against a good zone either.

My maternal grandpa made molasses and with 14 kids my grandma always had biscuits on the table under the tablecloth. Molasses or honey your choice. Plus baked sweet potatoes (old cold tater) always there.

In my day it was just down Hillsboro from Nelson. Next to the hardware store – but then I’m older than dirt.

Back in the day before I was retired I traveled where textile mills were located. My first time in any town I of course let person I was there to see pick the place for lunch. Ate at a lot of otherwise nameless places where the food was decent and a few where the food was stellar. Given the time that has passed I would think most of them are now gone. There were also some fine dining spots where we would have dinner. Some were the chain places (fine dining in a mill town) but a few were really fine dining. Names I don’t remember in this case. Locally there was a little out of the way German Family restaurant. It has been closed for some time (I expect part of that was the lack of alcohol sales in the county) but the food was fine and the portions would feed a week these days.

When it comes to this I have
very mixed tastes. From Highly Questionable on ESPN to Mr. Robot on USA. Lots of the typical TV BS also. Plots are either non existent or very varied.

For me doesn’t really matter as I’m not going to a bowl game. I di that in the day and enjoyed it a lot but not my thing now. I guess Sheridan and his foot the pedal against ECU in Atlanta helped do that for me. Oh and those damned cowbells in the GA Dome.

David Glen is a rabble rouser. One reason I no longer listen to WSJS in W-S. As to how will win the natty I really don’t care.

I’m very glad to hear he is doing well- awful scene and so far a very good outcome. It doesn’t matter to me friend or foe this is not the way it should go.

During the Danny Ford days I lived in the area. I was always treated well win or lose but you could see the passion there.

The buyout and the contract would be nearly impossible to top as like as Dabo continues to produce great teams. Like Danny Ford from years ago he has won the hearts of the Tiger faithful – rightfully so.Once Tricky Nicky does leave Bama we shall see but I doubt Daba will move.

I hope Y7 continues to improve although that probably means he leaves at the end of the season. So far I’ve been impressed with his improvement.

I don’t know how any player could concentrate – on either team. It has to be such a shocking event.

I missed the awful event but I do wish for healing – that part is not about sports it is indeed about humanity.
