Wearing the same clothes – check but I AM NOT going through the colon cleanse again <g>.
tractor57ParticipantExcept for Xavier fans the game was a good one to watch and for State fans is was excellent of course.
I was impressed by the team as much as any one individual. True to “survive and advance”. Hopefully the Hipster Cat will be in better shape for the next game. With no back to back games fatigue is less of an issue as compared to the ACCT.
tractor57ParticipantI predict the gametime will be a crapfest – at least here. Doing the cleanse for a colonoscopy scheduled for tomorrow. So I might end up watching or listening from the throne. As to the game itself the team has shown they can rebound and they can play top notch defense at times. I’m betting those happen tonight.
This team has been fun to watch – sometimes frustrating for sure but always interesting.
tractor57Participant“After the Central loss, somebody made the point that the loss was not a surprise. With the coach and returning players, Central was a good team and the loss was not a bad loss.
That same person was castigated by several posters here, in a u*nc-syracuse obnoxious arrogant kind of way.”
One thing I like about this time is the cream rises. These guys deserve some props. I appreciate good play – even when by the “blews”.
tractor57ParticipantAfter watching Central’s season they turned out to be a decent team. And with some luck they can bury the dump on the hump. Glad the teams gets to fight another day. Being a bubble team you can’t expect a lot of love but it seems the bracket is not as unkind as it could have been.
tractor57ParticipantKarma would be the Pack playing the Fighting Sendeks. Not that I expect such but it would be karma – especially if the Pack sent them back to the desert with their tales tucked.
tractor57ParticipantWulf I think that boat sailed long ago. From what I hear from the WF people there will still be an uprising until BZZZ and Welman are both gone.
Agreed not a bad job. Small school but the right coach can make things happen. That coach will have all the $$$ needed to run a quality program.
tractor57ParticipantI thought maybe Bzzz had turned the corner early in the season. Of late the clouds are rising – over him and possibly over Wellman as well.
‘roo I think it is telling that we have not seen King Karl since the blessed event. Telling that he crossed the line and rightfully so he has been blackballed from NCSU games. I am not a conspiracy theorist but this case was so obvious that even …

03/03/2014 at 11:36 PM in reply to: Is TJ Warren the best basketball player we\'ve had since David Thompson? #44334tractor57ParticipantI remember sitting on the sidelines near mid court when KC and Tate Armstrong of Duke had a shoot out. Paige and TJ’s shoot out was an imitation of the earlier one. As much as I like TJW Kenny is the best I have ever seen in a State uni since DT.

F' OFF! #43339tractor57ParticipantI think that article is pretty much on point and some here have gotten way off the mark. These days I rarely post and for the most part don’t even read the comments on this site.
Delete the negative comment if you wish – no skin off my back. It is pretty likely I’ll quit coming here anyway.
tractor57ParticipantYou miss my point. The only way to INSURE a bid for a team that does not have one prior to the ACCT is to win all. Winning through Saturday probably earns a bid but that is not guaranteed. Winning on Saturday PROBABLY garners a bid but it is not cast in stone.
tractor57ParticipantIf a team is not in before the ACCT the only way to insure a bid is to win it all. That obviously is very difficult/next to impossible for the bottom teams, pretty damn difficult for the mid tier teams and only of impact in potential seeding for the top 4 teams. Agreed a lot of the character of the ACCT died once more teams than the tourney winner were incited. Even so for a college basketball fan the concentration of so many games in such a short period of time is appealing. As to like/dislike this format given the size of the current ACC I really don’t care. Lots of problems with any format in my opinion and like you I don’t see a better format. What this does is put the emphasis on winning during the season over teams with decent RPI numbers (and a few “signature wins”).
tractor57ParticipantOK how about another view? If the Pack was in the bonus given the awful free throw shooting the team showed in the first half would there have even been a question about one call late in the game? Maybe the call on the TJW play was wrong or maybe it was not. Regardless the Pack was in a position to salt away the game at a number of points late and in failed to do so. I know my view is not popular here but it is what it is. I thought the team played very well but not enough to take the decision on the game away from an officials call. Syracuse tightened the screws late which they have done all year.
tractor57ParticipantI love the stats although I would not spent the work developing them so many thanks there. Beside the stats the old eye test shows me a young team that is in the midst of sorting things out as compared to last year’s team that was talented, experienced and consumed with chemistry issues. At this point I see a true bubble team for the NCAAT but I also see a team on an upward track.
tractor57ParticipantSo did the hole freeze over?
tractor57ParticipantIt is understandable that it is time to explore other options. Nothing but good to say about his character. Too bad he was caught in the coaching staff change. I wish only the best for Pete.
tractor57ParticipantJust because I watched the replay of the FSU game early this morning. Well maybe it was insomnia. Regardless looking at the replay I honestly didn’t a foul call on the Pack I could argue with. Viewing the game live I thought I saw a couple but with the benefit of the replay I now think not. Obviously this is not statistical but my perception that game was called reasonably. I have not done the same with the other games in the series mentioned here. I do not like Luckie at all so I really wanted to find an issue.
tractor57ParticipantTo say there has been no improvement is factually incorrect. To say there has not been sufficient progress is most likely true in all aspects. Areas that really need more work of course are free throw shooting and offensive rebounding with defense to a lesser degree.
tractor57ParticipantA link from the Greensboro News and Record on the game
http://www.news-record.com/sports/article_e11c2b4e-86d1-11e3-a8fb-001a4bcf6878.htmltractor57ParticipantA sighting of “Boo Boo” Bonner. Been making jokes about him since he was a player in the conference. He has turned into a better than average color man (better than average isn’t saying much sadly). I like the possum meme – maybe the entire game should be classed that way for both teams.
