tractor57Participanttractor57Participant
This pissing contest is why my coming here are becoming rare.
tractor57ParticipantWulpack would you say the same if it was Marvin from the dump?
tractor57ParticipantMistake? Not knowing? I sincerely doubt that. I do hope it is true but if so I do have to question his ability to absorb information, process that and make decisions.
tractor57ParticipantNo comment on the share – comment on the quality of the data (so called) in the link.
tractor57ParticipantIn the end who gives a crap. Troll piece as ‘foose says.
tractor57ParticipantI have always thought Spurrier was a bit of an Azzhat – an honest one but an Azzhat. This makes an interesting turn.
tractor57ParticipantThe whole situation sounds sketchy to me. The excuse “I took an over the counter supplement but didn’t get it verified by the coaching/training staff” but I didn’t think it was a problem is exactly wrong. He most likely knew banned substances were included. So one of two things – either he decided to play with fire or he was given tacit approval to use this “supplement”. Either way he has now mostly killed his future. Not sure I would want him as NC State at this point.
tractor57ParticipantAs I remember we had the same discussion last season at this time. To my eye the talent level is improved but still quite young overall. I’ll make my judgment at the end of the season.
tractor57ParticipantWulf I’m with you that it is an interesting turn of events. It is that my time available to follow such stories has become much more limited than a couple years ago.
tractor57ParticipantAs the Twerps are no longer in the ACC my attention to this is limited. That said we all know a FBS head coach has to perform.
tractor57Participant‘roon not so sure the refs caused any decision as you say but they were bloody awful. The good guys simply were not up to the task today. The “ville has a good team and to beat a good team you have to be ‘gooder’
tractor57ParticipantToday ‘ville was the better team on the field. We could have been but we were not. Next week hopefully will be different.
tractor57ParticipantGrey if it was a single incident I would be there with you. But it is not. For good or bad there has been a series of documented problems. That speaks to decision making (maybe character but since I do not know him I will not make that claim).
tractor57ParticipantSimple fact – the going rate. We can argue forever and that will not change. I’ve heard these same complaints back to the 1970’s only the numbers have changed.
tractor57ParticipantI’m not a fan of the black unis but that ship sailed years ago.
09/29/2015 at 1:01 PM in reply to: SMU Banned from Post-season, Larry Brown Suspended Nine Games #89389tractor57ParticipantMaybe a suspension of 10 games for a ballboy?
tractor57ParticipantI think Brisett has NFL potential. Rivers and Wilson are beyond that. Higher ceiling? Maybe but I honestly doubt it. I hope he can take that step but that’s a wish and not an expectation.
tractor57ParticipantFor many reasons I prefer a good ball control offense – especially in early season games when the OL is not settled. I suspect as the season progresses the offense will open up a bit.

tractor57ParticipantI have no special insights but I was a student during the time Bo (at least through the ’78 season). What I do remember was quality football and no major off field incidents. I also was at that game at the Tiggers in ’79 and oh did I have some fun the next Monday with all the Tigger fans (at that time I was living and working in upstate SC).
tractor57ParticipantI never though of TOB as a TV type. Maybe I was wrong in that. I have no issue with him now that he not our HC.
tractor57ParticipantRye I think you make a valid point. We do differ a bit in our opinions but I do not discount yours. The issue moving forward will be the one V faced – focus or the glamour life. Different time, different place so I don’t see the money issues V faced. V was an amazing recruiter, planner, motivator and game coach. Gott has some of these qualities but hard to compare across eras.
tractor57ParticipantHard to say anything other than Gott has been the best coach in Raleigh since V. Granted in some cases that is rather faint praise but to call him a “poor man’s Archie” might be going a bit too far. I have no criticism of Archie but I’m not sure he would do any better in Raleigh. Also I’m not sure V (or even Sloan or Case) would be so successful today as the landscape has changed much.
tractor57ParticipantGood recruiting or bad recruiting is simply a moment away. So far Gott seems to be to the good – even without this news and this news is outstanding.
