I thought Cody made the right play. An angle, the foul then the flip which is the double bonus case really didn’t matter unless it fell. I don’t thing it was but I have seen lesser fouls called flagrant 1. One thing you cannot do is play to not be hurt – then you are guaranteed to get hurt. Cody did limp through the post game line. His steal was the play of the game. The shot was I though a reasonable choice. HPU seems to be the real deal for a mid-major and no doubt a strong test for the ‘Pack.
tractor57ParticipantChop all onboard with your view. To me Les took one for the team but he was not up to the job. In some ways Lowe as well. No comment on the other guy. Gott has been better although maybe not the program savior to lead us to the promised land. To this point I am good with him.
tractor57ParticipantThat is the question every year for most all ACC teams. As the competition grows the where becomes more important. At this point I see the same model as we have seen with Gott. Slow start, team improves and makes it to the NCAA tourney. Maybe one day more but that is the history. Those that don’t like the routine I remind of Lowe, that other guy and Les.
tractor57ParticipantBJD you might be totally right but to me the pleasure of the season is seeing the team and players develop. Is Gott the magic sauce? Not sure I know. All I know is former stars on the court usually don’t do well as coaches – we have been there and done that.

Cody is growing in the PG sub role _ no he will never be a PG but maybe he can be adequate. Rowan showed better defensive positioning and was GFK today. Freeman looks more in shape.
As to issues focus seems to be an issue. Abu was better but still at times lost and the same for Anya. Cat limping off at the end is potentially trouble.
tractor57ParticipantI do remember those days obviously and yes that was too few. Today too many.
tractor57Participant‘Dog I do respect your view. I happen to look at it differently as a fan. I do remember tossing Tangerines on to the Carter field back in the day.
tractor57ParticipantI understand why the coaches and teams like a bowl – any bowl for most teams but I as a fan simply am over saturated. Sort of like I am with college BB on TV. Years ago when both were in less supply I watched most all. These days I watch some and skip many. That might be one of the current issues with ESPN and their financial problems. I appreciate the TV of the games I wish to see but I still think there are too many bowl games as a fan of college football.
tractor57ParticipantThere is so much football on TV these days I skip most of it. No longer are bowl games so special. I can remember the day when my FIL (dyed in the wool Clemson fan) would rig up multiple TV’s for New Year’s Day. In those days any bowl game was special. Today I’m more likely than not to skip …
tractor57ParticipantTo me there is a real issue when teams with losing records go to bowl games. The Pack’s standing to me should be iffy along with all other teams in the same category. Granted I’m very old school but I remember when a bowl invite was something special – any bowl for most teams. Days gone by.
tractor57ParticipantComparing Wood to Rowan as freshmen I think Rowan fares well. No disrespect to Wood but I do see more upside here.
tractor57ParticipantTo add injury to insult Romo now out with a busted shoulder.
tractor57ParticipantSo the Panthers were the dog.
tractor57ParticipantMaybe I’m the odd man out here but I enjoy watching a team develop as the year progresses. With the “new” NCAA and the transfers, leaving early, etc seems I do get to watch a young team develop each year. I enjoyed watching both of the games in NY. Yes I would have preferred 2 wins rather than 1 but I do see some positive trends. Will that hold for the season? I have no clue but I am enjoying the ride regardless.
tractor57ParticipantSeems LSU got a dose of cat scratch fever.
tractor57ParticipantI’m not worried about Cat but the team must learn how to operate when he gets a blow. Better tonight but still a work in progress. I saw some improvement over the previous game – maybe that was coaching, maybe that was a different match up or maybe the players are developing. Maybe all three. Yes those were VERY short blows tonight.
tractor57ParticipantOh what a difference a couple hours makes on this board. Nice win but to me more importantly was the experience of two very close games back to back for the team. In part managing Cat’s time on the court, in part seeing better play tonight as compared to last night. Better to learn those lessons at this time rather than in Feb.
tractor57Participanta new meme – Rick’s phone 🙂
tractor57ParticipantClose but not quite enough. A learning experience I trust.
tractor57ParticipantI’m old school. Beyond anything else I want the announcers to actually call the game as sorry as it may be. I don’t give a crap how many former K players are coaching tonight.
tractor57ParticipantLike Gott or not but a far sight better than the past decades. Promised land? Maybe not but a a step up.
tractor57ParticipantDefense? Really? How about some effort on either end of the court?
tractor57ParticipantWhich is much different from the days of Amato or TOB. Good enough on the progress thing? Maybe not entirely but there is progress.
tractor57ParticipantAnyone who cannot see progress is either blind or willfully ignoring. I get that for some the progress is not quick enough but even so there has been progress.
tractor57ParticipantAs to punishment from the coaches I’ll defer to them. As to his legal issues I agree help him find proper representation and if needed proper assistance.
