I saw a number of things. The calls, the lack of calls (Markel being stomped and Beverly taking a Chris Paul shot), a lack of being in the moment. With all that the Pack was in the game. Did this toss the Pack out of the NCAA tourney? I think not but it does make the task much harder. A better team? Yes and most likely good enough for the big dance but we shall see.
It seems the case by the FBI is crumbling – not that I think agents and big time coaches are pure but comes back to what you know and what you can prove.
Back to the Al Davis line – just win, baby. Oh so close but not quite. Better to have that CF now than during the tourneys
The final question will be if the FBI has jurisdiction and if they will really act. I suspect the answers are no and no.
My issue is a lack of vetting. I see no evidence Gott was directly involved but there was the vetting.
Pack1997 some coaches have been able to adapt while some were never really prepared. I’ll just leave that there without further comment. KK might be one of those that can work with the current system.
I like most of what I see but I also did year 1 with Gott. I think we are in a better place but I need more history at State. At this point I’m in but I also realize time will tell. Historically I’m big on defense and basic fundamentals but that might not be the college game these days. To date I’m pleased but I also realize things could go south quickly. I don’t think that will happen but since V I can’t say I really thought a coach was “in for the game” – it seems KK is buit with less than a year in I’m not ready to take the total leap.
There was a BBQ place in north Burlington (almost Haw River). Unique as no wet sauce. Later moved to south US 70 and I think currently no more. I moved back to Yadkin County many years ago and there was a small German Family Restaurant. Good food but way out and in a then dry county. In work life I traveled a lot all over the country and found an eastern NC BBQ place along US 1 in north Jersey.
Don’t know if it still exists but the best hog I found was at a hole in the wall pub in Spartanburg, SC. Called the Nu Way lounge and the Converse College Connies used to frequent there in the ’80’s. A buddy and I were regular enough that the waitress would order a pitched of beer for us when we walked in. Cold beer, good dogs, nice people. The barkeep was the owner’s son (and a black belt in karate) so I felt safe.
Fugly game but a win. Moving forward the Pack has to take care of business. If they do they are probably in but regardless if they don’t …
The last line of the article says it best – “Even if all of the charges get dropped in this case, the NCAA will likely still have the final say in how everything will be handled.” Which probably means the rich get richer.
Mr P I do agree on that. Part of growing as a team and a program. I still think time for the Hanson brothers …
Tonight I refuse to hunt for the local ACC network station. It keeps shuffling around and I’m simply tired of being a sheep. Either one outlet is on board or they are not. Only the ACC can fix this.
