Ass this dreaming of the “current flavor” reminds me of the epic thread and how Foulup really screwed cashing Calimari …

Kannapolis is a prime example of a rebirth. The textile biz dying nearly killed the town but there has been a recovery of sorts. Part of that is indeed being relatively near the Queen City and part has been some investment in other types of businesses.

Jacoby did what was needed. He showed he can win.

I support demonstrations but I do not support rioting. That is a black line for me. Glad I’m a couple hours away from the mess …

I’m impressed with Jacoby’s performance last night but I also remember a few other times where an unknown did well for the Pats. This is no slam on Jacoby but there is also a culture and a system in place.

Do you really think any comments are wanted? Mostly would be drivel for one view or the other. Here on the other hand we have have been able to actually discuss. I do see some issues that should be addressed (maybe not this incident but yes some issues). Good that we can have a discussion rather than a riot.

Maybe the best I ever tasted was at the Nu Way lounge in downtown Spartanbug when I lived there many years ago. A couple good places in Winston-Salem and one I also like in Yadkinville.

I have no issue with protests – I do have an issue with looting. Seems like the 1960’s all over (odd since this has been declared the post racial era).

Wuf we agree in principle but maybe not to the same degree. Glad we can discuss without the usual Internet crap. I think your opinion has much value but not there YET – end of season I will either be or not.

Wuf I am not gonna slam you but I do take a bit more moderated view. That said this year I do want to see some progress – maybe not in W/L but in the team looking more ready to compete. Maybe that was so in Greenville or maybe not – but to me this year is one that is telling. The seat is warm and getting warmer by the second.

Simple – ECU did what need to be done and the Pack did not. Good ECU team and maybe a good Pack team.

So who left Bill or Mary? Yes I’m kidding and no doubt ECU is a more difficult to handle. That is at it should be.

The difference for me Yogi is I’m not worried about the fabric of the country when someone decides to carry legally. She has her reasons and might be different from mine but she is in her right mind and knows what she is doing. Actually an amazing lady in many ways. She once asked me if I was bothered by her carrying – my answer was no as I trust you and your decisions. That goes far beyond worrying are the elderly ( which I will soon join) and to their choices. My point is there is no “litmus test” on these issues. I made my decision and she made hers. We are both fine with those decisions.

Yogi very valid points and why I say there are good ideas on both sides of the issue. The same could happen here as well. Different perspectives and I do support yours.
I’m not saying what I do for home protection but I do have plans. What I do not do is concealed carry for the reasons I stated. My 90 year old aunt does and I have not doubt she would use that if needed. I’m good there but I have not come to that conclusion for myself.

I have some long guns and a revolver but no CCW. Part of that is I’m not sure I ready to use one in those situations – and if you would not use one it will be used on you IMO. I live in a rural area so most every house here has guns of all sorts. I’m obviously not anti gun but I’m not a rabid NRA type either. I do understand the issues and I agree with some from either camp but much of the drama is political distraction.

UNX was indeed hosed on a couple calls. As we know that happens. To the difference in the game is the one where the Hat lost is cool and got a additional penalty. That put his team both in a very bad spot and in a bad place mentally.

As far as the Pack vs Bill and Mary. Their offense has proven to be quite good and once we adjusted a bit we stayed with them. Our offense looked good but their defense is not the best so more to be told later. For a game one I thought good enough. We saw both quarterbacks have talent, one is better in the current system (no surprise there). We didn’t have a bad case of poor hands either.

JasonP why should the team show more when winning in such a manner?
Of course as the season progresses more will have to be shown.

I think this is a pivotal year. Do I think coach D is a fool? No. He did see some weakness in the staff (or was helped to see) and adjusted. Were the right choices made? We will see. As to recruiting not natty caliber of course but seems better than under TOB. Time to show improvement in the win/loss – tough thing with the schedule this year but we simply have to see signs of improvement.

Just remember Ted Brown did not play in the first games of his freshman season. Knowing such I’m withholding any judgment for now.

Given the history involved with the previous setting I for the life of me cannot fathom how Bubba or the Hat could possibly this would not major PR implications. I’m sure friendship was a part, the desire to win was also a part of the reasoning. There was another of the N&O writers on a local radio sports talk show yesterday afternoon and it was obvious he was simply shaking his head at the whole mess.
