My opinion has been for a number of years that one and done is a total farce. I like the college baseball model better. I think it is better from the student athlete, the school, and MLB. Would that the NBA would allow such and would support a “farm system”. A kid who is physically ready for the NBA should be allowed there, the unversities and colleges should not have to financially support the NBA.
tractor57ParticipantI make no predictions. I do think this year’s team is more mentally tough than last year’s. It takes physical and mental toughness to do well here.
tractor57ParticipantSo was the game against FSU. In the end just win, baby.
tractor57ParticipantTime for the Pack to simply do what we know they can do. Win or lose if they do that I’ll not be upset. I do see the possibility of moving upward as a program but it has to happen for real not in hopes and dreams.

Seriously, Who Uses That Nomer? #124519tractor57ParticipantI think a huge step forward to not fall in the game after the big game. Yes some more work to do but further down the road as compared to last year.

tractor57ParticipantFrom what I’ve seen we tend to rotate by series. That would make the sub patterns not as important however if we need to sub for a winded player then yes it could be an issue.
tractor57ParticipantAs mentioned earlier I wonder who “coach 1” is. This is not good at all for the NCAA or for the implicated schools (and likely some other schools). The sad thing is when all is said and done Baller brand shoes might be the only one left.
tractor57ParticipantIn the end it is a workplace issue. The workplace being the televised games. I as a consumer have the right to watch or not as I wish. If the NFL, the owners and the teams are fine with the “protests” well and good. If you are not change the channel. THAT will influence things more than anything else. $$$ matter.
tractor57ParticipantI’m of the Al Davis camp – “just win baby”. Agreed that has not been in the NC State bag of tricks for a number of years. Maybe we are growing past that or maybe we will fall flat again.
tractor57ParticipantDSD I never thought a big deal. I might disagree with the method of protest BUT it has always been nonviolent and I can understand some of the issues. I’m afraid it is now a “thing” rather than a heartfelt protest – maybe I’m wrong. I am boycotting the NFL for the crappy product on the field not what players do before they play.

tractor57ParticipantMaybe or maybe not but time will tell. Apparently he has been called out by the FBI. That might leave the NCAA in a tough spot – as they have basically done nothing about his previous issues (just hit the school after he left) they might have to rethink the whole scam (I mean scheme).
tractor57Participantrye there we agree.. We should win but to win we have to play as smart as we did against FSU (plus clean up some problem areas). So each game we have looked a bit better but so has all our opposition (maybe excluding FSU). If we continue to progress I think we will have a good season (maybe even a great one) but if we don’t FSU could well be the highwater mark. Such is college football. It is really hard to get a read on teams early in the season but I see some good sparks.
tractor57ParticipantThe program’s biggest win in decades and the topic is “playing not to lose”. Guys back up a bit and simply enjoy the win. In a few games we will have ample evidence pro or con but for enjoy the ride.
tractor57ParticipantAnd the right is not???? Yes I am right leaning but both play the same game. I’m old enough to have had devotions and said the pledge every morning in school. I also was trained in how to properly treat the flag and was part of the group that raised and lowered the flag each day. So I’m not some “leftist” who knows nothing or doesn’t care. This has become the current “wedge issue” to take our minds away from more serious issues.
tractor57ParticipantThis ^^^^^
tractor57Participant‘Troll where did the NFL ever make any sense with rules, etc? I think they are in a gun fight carrying a knife here. Trump is also completely wrong – but the final say with be $$$
tractor57ParticipantTime and place – the Pack imposed their will. The next question is can they (will they) do that going forward. I think the table is set but it is what happens on the field that will tell.
tractor57ParticipantI simply look at what happened on the field. In this game the Pack imposed their will. Maybe if FSU had not had those injuries, but we could also say the same for the Pack. At the end of the year it will be a win for the Pack and a loss for the ‘noles.
tractor57ParticipantMt take remains – boycott if you like, watch if you like. Same goes for NASCAR. My problem is the product on the field or the track not what happens before the event. If before the event is important to you decide on that.
The 1st has been crafted a bit into things like “you cannot scream fire in a crowded theater” which does place a few limits outside of gooberment control. But for the most part speech in a workplace (other than for organizing) is not protected speech – and there it is not a 1st amendment thing. For me it is time for Trump to put down the twitter box and let things move forward. I would never agree to making these protests illegal even if I don’t agree with them.tractor57ParticipantThe games – or “the games”?
tractor57Participant“Freedom of speech”. I always thought that was related to the government restricting speech. Regardless if the NFL accepts the protests fine and good. They might suffer to consequences of that stand. Me personally I would not participate but they can. My thing is the product on the field becomes more silly every week. If I decide to no longer watch it is mostly because of the product on the filed. That puts the NFL and NASCAR in the same boat. Opposite sides of this issue but the product mostly sucks.
tractor57ParticipantMy take away was that unlike all the “experts” pronouncements the talent level wasn’t so different. Granted had FSU played their regular schedule some of the rust (stupid plays and idiotic penalties) would have been less likely). Blackman play one heck of a game for them. We do need to work on on filed discipline a bit more We will win as a team and lose as a group of individuals.
All in all I thought a great performance but no not perfect. Keep the energy and cut down on the “me” stuff a bit going forward.
