“remember we have some lads that resort to such”
Get you head out of your ass. If you’re referring to Thorton, both the media and law enforcement officials reported the assault did not go beyond a grabbed arm and shove. In my book, that’s different than hitting his girlfriend.
Bad, yes. But not the same. If I were coach, I may have come down on him harder. He may still be off the team. But that’s a different argument for another day. Point is, we don’t need our own damn fans exaggerating and embellishing outside the truth to trash our own players in a attempt to be cute and witty.
Bad form, Adventeroo.
And making pass at a girl that does not go beyond verbal does not rank a beat down from teammate, regardless of the circumstances. Even if the the guy is a complete douche, there are ways to address it outside a physical beating. And that’s assuming what the girl relayed to her boyfriend accurately portrayed the truth. Ask Percy Moorman what he thinks of such things.
tjfoose1ParticipantMarcus and Bryce were on the same Pop Warner teams for a few years, of which both their dads were coaches. They were studs in practice – it was pretty obvious they had D1 talent, even back then. I would be surprised if either picked the ‘Pack. Hope I’m wrong. With Keith at Georgia and already tying up his parents’ weekends, having the younger brother stay local – if for no other reason that for logistics – might be a tick in the Wolfpack’s favor. And who knows, with the boys and their fathers being good friends, maybe the Wolfpack can hit a long shot double.
08/19/2014 at 9:50 PM in reply to: Top motivational speaker who isn’t Wolfman Jack speaks to the Pack #54289tjfoose1ParticipantTry not… do, or do not. There is no try.
Would never make it in the movie if made today.
tjfoose1ParticipantThey can’t pay them more, BJD. Tax revenue is not for protecting the rights and property of citizens, its for buying votes and creating dependency.
tjfoose1ParticipantI’m no fan of the growing militarization of domestic police forces, their growing thug tactics, or the power mad meatheads within their ranks, however…
Anyone consider the possibility that Officer Wilson’s account is what happened? Does it matter that the media is now reporting there are now 12, TWELVE, witnesses that corroborate it.
Not that it matters at this point. The rioters demand ‘justice’, their version of it anyway. They’re calling for the officer to be killed.
The irony.
Imagine if you’re a store owner trying to protect your property with 7 bullets.
tjfoose1ParticipantThis is NC, the tax payer is not the concern. Dig deep enough and you’ll find a political debt being paid and the padded lining of a purse belonging to an associate/relative/friend of those in influential positions.
The Easley’s were not an aberration.
tjfoose1ParticipantJohn Deraney?!
???
tjfoose1ParticipantGood luck. The ACC 0’fer is gonna make that tough. There’s always stubhub.
Not that I’m recommending it, but you might be able to get good money from FSU fans if you sell the tickets individually, maybe pay for several games. That’s likely the only game on the schedule that will create anything close to a seller’s market.
Another benefit of playing marquee teams is being able to sell tickets. Several friends sold their Ohio State game tickets and paid for their entire season ticket package.
tjfoose1Participant… and on a dirt track, no less.
Horrible, sad. But DUMB. Darwin award candidate. Dumb ass punk move just ruined how many lives? His parents, family, family, friends, loved ones… Stewart et al.
tjfoose1ParticipantAnd now we now know the next dumb idea to come our of our marketing/PR dept. Bush league amateurs, we are.
But at least we’re trending up, or at least not trending down at the same rate. This ain’t as bad and the field logo debacle or the stolen “Our State” campaign.
08/10/2014 at 12:22 AM in reply to: Wolfpack’s football scheduling philosophy and future games #54135tjfoose1ParticipantY’all can call it a “trap” game all you want but App State should be on the schedule the same as ECU. 4 & 5 star recruits are great but solid FBS teams that win are built with the players that App & ECU make their #1 priority. If you beat them you can steal some recruits & begin to make moves. Plus you sell out the game, their is a re-sale market and the games are fun to watch. ***Drops mic, walks off stage***
That’s either a bad joke or the dumbest thing I’ve read in quite a while.
08/10/2014 at 12:19 AM in reply to: Wolfpack’s football scheduling philosophy and future games #54134tjfoose1ParticipantI doubt we buy out the ODU game. Lots of NC State ties with the ODU athletic admin folks.
tjfoose1ParticipantMy man, they based the 42 for exactly one half year of the best football under their regime
Yep. 2011, into’d it out in the UVA game if I remember correctly. DJ being the key cog.
Then they go and move DJ out of his spot in 2012 and F up the talent meshing. I think I remember us having this discussion at the time. “Bonehead” and “stubborn” are two terms I think I used in describing the D coaching.
Thought we still ran the 42 about half the time that season though, just w misplaced personnel, but my memory could be wrong.
tjfoose1ParticipantNothing new. Was essentially our base D during TOBs last 1.5 seasons.
tjfoose1ParticipantPer the 7’s. 3 were rotated 7’s, the top right one was flipped.
tjfoose1Participant130, but pretty sure an immediate answer to one question was incorrect, but there was no back up or undo. Thumb was quicker than the ‘stop’ thought at 5:30 am.
tjfoose1ParticipantDumb. Did our folks take their communications and lit courses at u*nc?
tjfoose1Participant^^ That team was 5-6. It was quite an accomplishment to lose 6 games with all that talent.
tjfoose1ParticipantTo each their own Wuf’, as long as not bugg’n or hurting others.
Problem with many these days is, they don’t understand the definition of a human right, and they think G-men should force me to pay for their choice to be a dumbass.
Fences make good neighbors and stay off my lawn, you punk kids.
That make you feel less sad?
tjfoose1Participant*choose
tjfoose1Participant95%
Before you all fall out of your chair laughing, what I think a government that attracts a large percentage of ego-centric, self centered, and power hungry individuals should and shouldn’t be doing with force and penalty (or force its citizens to do) is completely different than what I believe a person of free will should chose to do.
Bill – same here, as students. We passed for same reasons.

07/18/2014 at 3:14 PM in reply to: U.S. Patent Office cancels Redskins trademark registration #53689tjfoose1ParticipantZombies, cockroaches, and clueless mind numb lefties.
There. That should be a helpful elixir.
07/11/2014 at 1:20 AM in reply to: U.S. Patent Office cancels Redskins trademark registration #53558tjfoose1ParticipantI’m not saying Palin is a rocket scientist, but she’s savy and certainly intelligent. I’d say much more so than much of the press that mocks and denigrates her. But that’s not saying much.
No one would come off looking good once the attack dogs were sent out in masses. With the same treatment, the “57 states” and “corpsmen” comments of Obama don’t have an inconsequential effect.
The waterboarding comment… thus my Ann Coulter-light provocateur comparison. Palin the private citizen is different than Palin the elected official. I’m not a huge fan of the former, but I understand it. It’s her current gig. Comments like that get attention and press coverage. A political version of Madonna in her day, or Mylie Cyrus more recently. I give her props for turning a negative that destroyed her political career into a positive, a million dollar industry that is Sarah Palin.
As for the “man” comment, I was playing off previous comments. Besides, referencing a somewhat lacking ‘manliness’ is a compliment to a big part of his base. Im not joking.
07/10/2014 at 9:21 PM in reply to: U.S. Patent Office cancels Redskins trademark registration #53543tjfoose1ParticipantI’m for more of the domestic policies enacted during the part of Bill’s “the era of big government is over” administration.
I think it’s important to note that his first 2 years were a little rough and that he retroactively raised taxes when he entered office.
It wasn’t until after ’94 that it started to pick up. That’s where his talents truly kicked in. His greatest politician of our lifetime reputation is well earned. He saw the change and was able to pivot, embracing many of the policies he had previously stridently opposed (with welfare reform and balanced budget legislation being the most notable).
In some ways Newt Gingrich (as a PR foil and policy wonk) and Reagan (peace dividend and tech boom per R&D push in 80’s) were Clinton’s greatest assests, in addition to his charisma, savy, and political astuteness, wisdom, and acumen.
Exactly how government is supposed to work, in a meandering, roundabout way.
