Our stance toward drug use is insane.

If it was pot, he’s being suspended for partaking in a legal substance (in Colorado).

MLB, NBA, and the NFL all suspend players for testing positive for substances that are legal in all 57 states.

Half the products in GNC will get a positive on the NFL’s banned substance list.

The lists are agreed upon by the respective leagues and player unions. Alcohol is not on that list.

It’s hard to beat your wife and kids when you’re staring into the refrigerator for the 47th time, or zoned out scrolling through Netflix looking for Half Baked.

It’s also hard to perform at a level that keeps you employed.

But only chance on CGD coming to Raleigh is if there are no other options and ESPN plays up the CF FSU voodoo effect.

Let me clarify. No other options = no other games, ie, no one else is playing.

Loss to FSU = 0.5 step backwards

Nah, only if we get embarrassed. Almost all will be expecting a thrashing and wondering wtf is CGD doing in Raleigh anyway.

Anything short of complete annihilation would therefore be no worse than a push. A marginally close game would be a positive, a nail biter would bring big PR gains, a victory would be HUGE and make us the talk of the entire CFB weekend all across the nation. Doeren would be getting universal love for his progress in only year 2. That would lead to follow up profile stories
on his process and methods. That gets DD in doors that are otherwise closed.

But only chance on CGD coming to Raleigh is if there are no other options and ESPN plays up the CF FSU voodoo effect.

What color does the state pen use in FL?

In his capacity as ACC commissioner, Swifty looks after Swifty first, his boy second, u*nc third, and somewhere down the line after that, the ACC.

An undefeated FSU in the playoff = buckies for Swifty.

Besides, if this is the year the Rip Van Winkle of college football giants finally awakens, they’ll need a dragon to slay.

Then there’s his bitter, spiteful side. Ask Clemson about that.

Did I miss something? Did the ACC get a new commissioner?

If you’re gonna set goals, make ’em simple, clear, and attainable. I like the goals.

As the season progresses, I’m starting to see a way the Wolfpack can defeat FSU.

I agree with CD about our next game. We keep it close to the vest and beat them with vanilla from within our shell. Almost like coiling back a spring.

Why do I think the Wolfpack has a legit shot at defeating FSU?

    Jacoby’s leadership
    Jacoby’s accuracy
    Run game
    Wolfpack players believe

    plus…
CF’s voodoo over FSU, and FSU knowing about it
Jamies Winston’s head – something aint right in there

The defense still has some ground to cover though. But they still have 2 weeks.

Per the OL question, I pretty much stopped watching late in the game, but a few common reasons for leaving the starting unit in are below.

Probably the most common reason is to keep the unit and sub patterns consistent. The OL is more of a single unit that works in unison than 5 individual positions. Unit cohesion is just as important, if not more so, than the individual talent of the 5 linemen. I’d guess that the coaches wanted to keep building upon what they got working. Besides, with the personnel we have, you get the backups work in spots, integrated in with the regulars, not all together, wholesale.

If you’re on a defense late in the game on the wrong side of a butt-whupp’n, what are you likely to do? Think blitzing might be on the menu? What if you’re on that defense and you smell an OL made up of newbies? Think that would be a good situation for an entirely new OL unit on the field? Would you want to be the QB or RB lining up behind them? If you were, might it be reasonable to be concerned for your health?

The team had momentum and was playing well. End it on a good note. Don’t start messing with your oil mixture when you got the engine humming along. Screw that up, and you’re likely to mess up more than just your engine.

Besides, if you have a good OL with the right attitude, run blocking is FUN! This OL has been gelling nicely and racking up the rush yardage. The OL takes pride in rush totals like they’re getting. For the OL unit, rushing for 200-300 yards in a game is almost like intercepting a pass, blocking a kick, or scoring a TD. It’s an accomplishment of pride. Given NC State’s rushing stats that last decade or so, it’s probably like all of those all wrapped in one.

^ That game has been repressed and no longer available for memory recall. Unfortunately, I was unsuccessful at doing the same for the game in which u*nc beat us with a backup WR playing QB in one of the Charlotte games.

But no matter how bad that USF team was, many past NC State teams would have found a way to lower themselves to the competition.

I really liked how ticked off DD was going into the half up 35-7. Bodes well.

It’s hard to imagine USF being that bad, but I guess we will see.

They appeared to be Saturday, unfortunately. Defense is still a WIP. Loved what I saw, but I don’t know… I’m taking very little from Saturday.

But that could be just me, as I wasn’t watching too closely with a critical eye Saturday.

Murphy, BC’s QB, is Jacoby’s good friend and QB mate from Florida. Both left so they could play. They both playing like AA’s while Florida struggles. Irony, karma, or is Muschamp just clueless when it comes to offense and/or evaluating QBs?

I retract my comment from earlier in the week that suggested the Wolfpack might be favored against BC.
