Wild pitch puts Wolfack at 2nd and 3rd w/ no one out. And Avent does NOT come out of the dugout to complain about something.

1st and 2nd w no one out for the ‘Pack in the top of the 14th… With Avent continually being a little whiney biotch. I think that’s about his 4th warning. And really, no valid reason for him to be arguing.. STFU Avent.

Is it me, or does ND’s announcer sound like Bob Uecker?

This is the chance at the year we’ve been waiting for.

Reminds me of a quote I heard live back in 2008.

“We are the one’s we’ve been waiting for”

Let’s hope with a little less arrogance, a lot more competence, and a helluva lot more humility, next year has far better results.

Teams not named Kentucky/Duke/Kansas etc. that are successful in the tourney do so in general on having experienced teams that have played together.

Righto, as was put on display in UW vs UK.

What this is saying is that State can’t move up in the conference and we have to wait until everyone falls back.

I don’t think that is correct.

What was meant, or at least how I read it, is that the opportunity to surpass will most likely be greater while the competition goes though a change in leadership. I didn’t read it as ONLY possible during those periods.

I don’t see how anyone can disagree. Whether it be sports programs, political parties, or warring nations, that’s pretty much the way it is.

Regardless, in either case, it does not necessarily mean others fall back while the Wolfpack remains static. It could be a swapping of positions, especially if recruiting is directly effected. For example (exaggerating to make a point), 3 top 10 2020 recruits, who would have gone to u*nc or Duke if there were no coaching changes, instead choose NC State, with the continuity and known commodity of the coaching staff being the deciding factor.

I did my part today. When I left, the Pack was up half a dozen in the 8th.

Beautiful day at Doak. Pack up 5-2 after 5.

Well, that’s one way to lose. Get the lead in the late innings, bring in your bullpen, then have ’em promptly bean 3 batters to load the bases.

Thx. I had planned on catching on my TV via watchESPN + Chromecast. Guess I should’ve actually checked ESPN’s schedule first.

How crowded? I might head over there in the later innings.

LB’s will be fine, and deep. DL will be better than average, at a minimum.

Secondary is my only question mark, but for now, will trust in the coaches to at least have them playing up to adequate given the progress made in-season last year, the returning contributors, the talent being brought in, and the redshirts.

…but I don’t how long before Beamer gets VT back on track

He won’t. Not what they were.

Best scenario for Beamer is that he’s able to scrap together an 8 or 9 win season that wins the Coastal sometime in the next 3-5 years giving him the opportunity to retire on a ‘high’ note.

Otherwise you’re looking at a Bowden situation in Blacksburg.

However, I still think there has to be 1 or 2 WTF games in us next season.

Those will become increasingly less frequent with the current coach. His coaching style and methodology will eventually keep them at a minimum, if not eliminated.

    Agreed.

By his associations, Rick, I’m sure, is a “good guy”. But NC State is not just HIS team. NC State is also MY team. NC State is OUR team.

His ripping is done HERE, not in a vacuum. It’s going to elicit responses. They are postings, not edicts. With the nature, tone, and frequency of his commentary, the responses should be expected.

I fund it hilarious you say you are never here…

What was that you said about reading comprehension? I never wrote ‘never’. And I can read more than one day’s post per visit. And your own admission over the past month of trying to be better kinda ends the argument. Recognition is the first step, so congrats in that regard.

But I realize some people cannot handle opposing view points.

That’s rich. I personally appreciate opposing points of views. But if you are referring to your ‘views’, you’re missing the point. It’s not your views that I and others find so tired, the recent semi respite aside, it’s the incessant, predictable, miserable whiny negative condescending attitude and ripping of NC State teams, players, and coaches as if they were your own (and yours only) personal whipping boy.

Per the Valvano reference, for those of you who were not around, Valvano was ripped during his time here. There were many none too pleased with Kenny Drummond, Murray State, Mike Giomi… who were saying it was time for him to move on. Even The Technician joined in.

Time and circumstance has caused such memories to fade, but it was there, and not in insignificant amounts.

    Constant criticism, Rick?

I’m rarely here these days already, mainly due to the CONSTANT bitching coming from you and your ilk.

I didn’t even use your name in my previous two posts, though I admit it was pretty obvious to whom I was referring. And in reviewing my comments, I see nothing that wasn’t, or isn’t, true.

I haven’t even approached the level of personal criticism you dole out on practically a daily basis, but go ahead, if you can’t handle it, cry me a river and take your ball and go home.

I’m sure I’ll find something better to do with the already dwindling time I spend on this site.

After all, I don’t recall ever coming across advice for leading a happy and successful life to include increasing exposure to anger and negativity.

No result will make him happy. Even if they they won the NC, he’d find an excuse to bitch and tear down someone. He practically admitted such himself, by comparing Gott’s ‘failures’ to
    TOB’s.

Certainly Gott has surpassed TOB’s level of success, yet he still rips. Does anyone really think that if TOB did cash in on the opportunity that he wouldn’t rip him for not attaining the next level of success, or the next level, or the next? TOB would’ve had to surpass Saban’s success before he even considered shutting down the rip machine.

But even if TOB had, there’s always individual players he could rip, or winning ‘ugly’, or lack of execution or player development. Then there’s always baseball, track, tennis…

Some people are like that. There’s a name for them. Several, actually.

Nope, not surprised. At least you are consistent. Glad I wasn’t here for the game.

For those whining, bitching, and complaining about an opportunity lost, and bemoaning that the Pack will never see an easier path to the final four, you could at least acknowledge part of the ‘easy path’ was created by the Pack knocking off the #1 seed.

But of course, your response would be to belittle the opponent and thus the accomplishment. Some people live with loser outlooks in life. Some don’t. I for one am thankful Jimmy V was the latter.

But yes, I know. You need something to whine and bitch about so you can warm yourself in your miserableness while sitting on your fat ass criticizing the effort of others.

    Talk about not being surprised…

Per the McDonoad’s comment, McD’s AAs are chosen based on high school performance, NOT projected collegiate success.

    Two completely different standards.
