Hux is not without fault as the Nichol back is his responsibility and many of the failures IMO were failures of the Nichol, in his LB role, not getting it done on the LOS.

Huh? Exactly which nickle this side of Dravious Wright were you watching?

DD said at the atlantic beach caravan that after 2 years he still hasnt learned to check his ego at the door. He sounded incredibly frustrated at the situation

Yes, he did, publicly. But DD wasn’t talking to the folks at the atlantic beach caravan when he said it.

I think it might be more appropriate to revisit after he’s actually played a down or two. He is just a redshirt freshman going into his first season after all.

    Thank you , redisgood

Careful stepping out on that limb there, foose! 3 to 9 wins likely you say?

No, I made no claims about what was likely. That’s why I lead my statement of win total scenarios with “I have no idea…”

What one could reasonably infer from my post is that I believe the talent at positions other than QB could produce up to 9 wins, if and only if the QB performs at an All ACC type level. One could also reasonably infer that I also believe that there isn’t enough talent to win more than 3 or 4 games if we get consistently poor play from the QB position.

But reasonable inferences don’t help with trolling.

We have 3 talented, but unproven QB’s on the roster. It appears the talent increases with the youth.

I have no idea what the position will produce come game time. That one variable at it’s lowest could bring a 3 win season, at it’s absolute highest and paired with timely breaks, maybe 8 or 9.

Is the sky still falling? Or nah?

Just a brief intermission between sky falling sessions.

Just wait. Another one will be here soon enough.

I think he’s lucky to have a job this year. Recruiting hasn’t been what was promised.

Lucky? No. No competent AD would have fired him.

How Dabo Swinney outrecruits everybody and their brother is beyond my understanding.

I always thought it was pretty obvious.

Doeren could have his best team, yet have a losing record in 2016 and no job come 2017.

For even a modest 7 wins, we may need an All ACC caliber type year from our QB or Dayes/Frasier, if not both.

8 wins and Doeren has impressed… 9 or more, he gets serious consideration for ACC coach of the year

I’m not a baseball guru either, far from it, but overhearing Palmeiro Sr yesterday, he has often been confounded by the coaching decisions coming from the NC State bench. Not directly critical mind you (I think being fully aware of his position, and the coaches), but genuinely confused, with ‘why?’, ‘huh?’, and ‘really?’ type stuff, even directly commenting that he long ago gave up trying to figure out the decision making process coming from the dugout and instead focuses on simply supporting the team and players.

… and then another freebie on an 0-2 count with 2 outs.

That’s what happens when you find the first 2 batters in the 9th a free pass.

Under different circumstances, with the efficacy of my magic mojo, might consider saying that’s a wrap. But NC State fandom comes with powerful counter measures, so maybe I just tilted it a favorable degree or too

I’ve done my part… Just finished eating a cinnamon sugar funnel cake up in the back corner of the first base side causeway, just like I did late in the final game of the super regional against Rice.

    Can somebody post the link?

    Thanks

    I think we have 3 capable QB’s.
I eagerly await evidence that supports that conclusion.

Depends on your definition of ‘capable’.

We certainly have 3 QB’s with the physical tools to, at a bare minimum, not be a detriment. But what’s between the ears will determine how that translates to the field on game day.

But with the new OC bringing his offense, and his former QB starter transferring in to both compete to start, and assist teammates with the transition, optimism will not be low.

But mix in past experience… a bee sting, a slip getting out of the tub, and trip on the stairs will probably knock all 3 out the week leading up to game 1.

I imagine there will be more Blue and Gold in our stadium then Red when we play at the aluminum jungle.

Troll or dum bass? I’m going with troll.

Either way, I’d take that bet and give 5-1.
