    He still AVERAGED almost 30 points per game – let that sink in for a minute. DSJ averages 19 with a 3 pt line and a shot clock. He is no DT, but I still enjoy seeing him perform.

    The 3 pt line & shot clock are great points, however to be fair you’re comparing the points/game of a freshman compared to that of DT’s junior year. A more accurate comparison would be DT’s freshman year when he averaged 24.7, which of course is still 5 points more than DSJ. I’m sure DSJ’s points/game average would be higher if he were he a couple more years.

    A decent MEAC coach promoted to an ACC school? That’s not likely. At least I hope not. We better be thinking bigger.

    Roo, they got a kid, Michael Ojo, who is a freak listed at 7’1″ and 291 pounds. He’s basically a monster. Would have been nice to have Anya tonight…

    @VaWolf

    Kenpom predictions rest of season:
    @FSU – 7%
    @WF – 18%
    UNC – 19%
    ND – 34%
    @GTech – 34%
    UVA – 16%
    @Clemson – 21%

    Converted odds 1 in 107,541 chance of winning out. So yeah, it’s not gonna happen lol.

    BJD, always the optimist… “1 in 2000” hahaha

    i’m curious now.. if I get some time later i’ll run the numbers from Kenpom.

    Do it. I’m curious to see the comparison to teamrankings.com. I’ve been tracking them since the start of the ACC regular season. I’m planning on documenting their stuff towards the end of the year.

    It’s too late for me to track pomeroy now for that entry. But one data point would be better than nothing.

    will do.. i gotta run out for a bit but I’ll run it via Kenpom when i’m back

    Just ask yourself how much UConn has done since their miracle tourney run. Jack squat.

    If I remember right the UConn miracle run was 2011 was under Jim Calhoun.. i think they won it all again in 2014 under a different coach though.

    Winning out would be like a 1 in 2,000 probability event (do the math yourself)

    i’m curious now.. if I get some time later i’ll run the numbers from Kenpom.

    EDIT: n/m VaWolf killing it in here

    Where do you see Anya out tonight? I’m not finding it anywhere on N&O website.. i do see one tweet mentioning Anya didn’t make the trip to Tallahassee though.

    The problem is, 6 years in, it’s clear his early successes were miracle runs.

    I don’t think they were miracle runs. I think they were Bobby Lutz runs.

    Cover your bung holes here, folks. FSU is definitely legit final 4 material.

    14 point dogs according to Vegas while Kenpom has us as 16 point dogs tonight.

    Just because the conference shuffled around doesn’t mean our expectations should be lowered. I mean, we’re looking at ACC cellar dwellar records.

    Roo: Don’t show those #s to anyone in the athletic department! (I’m sure they already have them).

    That to me looks like incentive to go out and try and find a cheap up and comer, from a strictly business standpoint.

    Money talks so those figures aren’t exactly promising, looking forward. Assuming your calculations are correct, the need for a highly paid home run hire just isn’t there financially speaking.

    I think Gott made us a much more desirable job. He’s shown recruiting, reaching the tourney, and winning is very do-able here. If he goes he’ll have had 5 years so an incoming coach would know they have job security as well. And the fact that we play in the best conference in the nation doesn’t hurt. And how could I leave out “fuhcilites”????

    The *ONLY* problem at this point I see is if there would be any residual Gary Williams effect this time around re: Yow as your boss. I would hope that after 5 years that issue would have faded a bit.

    I’m optimistic our next hire can be a home run (on paper).

    I guess this is to be expected when we consistently run away from three point shooters.

    In CLT, maybe…

    Not NY, Boston, Chicago or LA…

    Mock drafts have him around #4 or #5. The team that picks him up won’t be bringing him in to learn in the NBDL.

    He won’t be on the board long enough for NY, Boston, Chicago, or LA (assuming your talking about the Clippers and not the Lake Show) to even be in contention.

    There have been some amazing games where teams have come back from seemingly unbelievable pitfalls

    See 2011 UConn Huskies. Went 9-9 in the Big East. As #9 seed they won 5 straight in their conference tournament (didn’t earn any BYEs) to get them off the bubble. Then went on to win 6 straight to win the NCAA tournament.

    Anything can happen. See Patriots last night.

    Dennis will play.

    Now all that said… Mr. Smith can learn what he needs to learn in the Development League or sitting on the Bench somewhere else just as easily as in Rawlee…

    Well.. he’s light years behind Lorenzo Brown so this is a bit ridiculous…………

    Just kidding.

    It ain’t gonna happen, but to answer the question of *SHOULD* he is interesting. Even though chance of some kind of career ending injury in basketball compared to football is much less it COULD happen. I think Dennis is an 18 year old kid who likes playing the game way too much though and therefore it WON’T happen.

    That city must never be forgiven for what they unleashed upon the world by their idiotic refusal to just take their chip shot FG.

    Told my wife the Falcons would be Champions this morning if they’d have let me call the plays on that one single drive. A sack and a 10 yard penalty to move them out of FG range almost seems scripted.

    Honestly, anyone who’s ever played Madden video game would have called a couple of power run plays and allow one of the best kickers in the league sew it up.

    … although, it didn’t work for DD @ Clemson, but to be fair he didn’t have Matt Bryant warming up on the sidelines.
