You are correct, CD. Not one on their knee is disrespecting our country or flag. They are quietly trying to say there is Injustice and discrimination still in country.

Then why is there supporters in this very thread saying “You’ve got to earn respect?”

What’s sad (and concerning) is this guy is 100% fully buying into it. They really do believe it. They believe America doesn’t deserve respect because there are a tiny fraction of a percentage of police who are either bad at their job or made a mistake. It is stated clearly right here in this thread for the world to see.

Respect must be earned? Sounds good, I’ll just create my own cockamamie protest.. I’m going to choose to protest the NFL by not acknowledging black history month. Acknowledging black history month must be earned!

See, I too can string together words that don’t add up to any sort of logical reasoning while being overtly obtuse as well!

@pakfanistan, what would you guess is the biggest threat to a black man’s life? Do you think it’s the American Flag? Is it the police?

Just now seeing local schools are supporting “taking a knee”. This country’s in a real backslide. Nothing is sacred anymore. No longer have to respect anything, including the law of the land, tremendous sacrifices made by military personal, the church. This disrespect is in fact encouraged.

Guess that’s just the way it is now. Nothing I can do as one person to change it. So it’s best to just accept what the country has become and the direction it’s headed. Anger and stressing about it is fruitless.

I stand with the Kaepernickers, just to be clear.

I guess that means you stand over them these days then.

You also stand behind his anti-police “police are pigs” socks and agenda he sports?

Just seems odd to me that the NFL will fine players for wearing eye black with writing that says “Find the Cure” for breast cancer, or fine a player for wearing purple cleats to speak out against domestic violence, but allows, supportive of it even, the players and coaches taking a dump on the American flag and everything it represents. I just can’t get behind an organization that operates like that.

I seem to remember a poster dismissing Grey’s posts when he used injuries to excuse NCSU losses last year. Now injuries are being used to explain away the win over FSU. Interesting how the script gets flipped to support a narrative.

Great point! But don’t forget there’s two side to that coin. Now a win and key injuries to other team didn’t make a difference.

At the end of the day, we need to take care of business against Syracuse.

@Grey: 14 point underdogs? What book are you playing at?! How can I get in on that action? Vegas books and offshore books had us as 10 pt underdogs.

I like to give the players credit for the win as well as point out the reality that we needed all the help we could get in the form of injuries to opponents key players and an opposing QB getting his first minutes ever in college. It’s what I like to call “not burying your head in the sand”.

Tractor57, thank you for being well within the minority and actually understanding the 1st Amendment!

I don’t think he’s in the minority at all. Freedom of speech is well understood from where I’m sitting. Maybe different perspective for you… are you hearing a lot of folks calling to prosecute these ungrateful idiots under some kind of law?

Troll, you can only be so dense. The flag is a contrived symbol. The protest is about Injustice in this nation. Not standing for the anthem is communicating a protest about Injustice. The flag is just the tool. Think

Boy they’ve really got you hook, line, and sinker. I can’t even wrap my mind around how you are debating that the method these protests are using is to disresepct the flag, anthem, and country. I’m going to guess you think they are actually respecting and revering the flag during these protest.

They could slap your mom to the floor in protest and you’d be over there calling her dense for complaining about it.

A protest is not”disrespecting the flag” anymore than not supporting a war is not supporting the troops.

This very well might be the most preposterous thing I’ve ever read on SFN.

We MUST be on different pages.. let me just let you clarify.. which protest are you speaking of?

Surely you aren’t speaking about the protest where the football players do not stand to show their respect for the flag and national anthem? Because THAT protest… well… that’s their entire point of the protest. Not sure how to drive this home to you. Disrespecting the flag IS the fVcking protest!

This is why we can have an intelligent discussion.. absolute truth just gets entirely perverted, warped, and ultimately disregarded.

I hate to be the one to upset the party but the Supreme Court decided at least 20 years ago that even burning the American Flag was protected free speech.

Ummm, sorry to be the one to bring you back down to earth but you are not “upsetting” anything. Nobody here has said it was illegal to be a jack a$$ and disrespect the flag.

I’ll be exercising my rights to not watch these idiots disparage the country.

My research is now showing police brutality as what’s originally being protested. I’ve got a solution to 99.9999999999999% of police “brutality”.

Now, a lot of people don’t know this, but I’ll go ahead let you guys in on it since we’re all pretty good pals.

If we can get people to do these two things, we can get everyone back up on their feet during the national anthem!
    #1) Don’t commit crime
    #2) Obey police officer’s command

    Have a nice night, folks.

Agree that peer pressure at this point is playing a huge role. I’m still not sure what their “position” is. Remember, Kapernick started this thing wearing cops are pigs socks and not even giving enough respect to kneel. He just sat there with his confused head down. Seemed more anti-police than whatever it is they are protesting now.. is it Trump now they are protesting?

Catching their QB playing in his first game ever no doubt played a part in the win, but we also caught some luck when Auden Tate, FSU’s leading receiver, got injured in the 2nd quarter after amassing 9 catches for 136 yards and a TD. Another stroke of luck was Matthew Thomas, their leading tackler last season, going out for the game in the 1st quarter. We caught ’em banged up for sure.

The stars aligned, but the big take away for me was that we finally didn’t snatch defeat from the jaws of victory, regardless of FSU’s roster woes. And a win on the road is always sweet.

There’s still a lot to prove, however.

Can’t believe they didn’t try the onside kick… they going to have less than a minute with no timeouts to drive the field with a freshman..

    oh nevermind, Hinesy wins it!

    Good game Pack!
