So the Vegas line moved from +7.5 down to +6.5. This is significant because the general public is betting ND and the line crossed all the way through a significant betting number of 7. Smart $$$ coming in on NCSU.
No worries guys. The win is on me today. I dropped some coin on the ND moneyline a day or two ago.

What’s my opinion of “them”? And who is “them”? Please don’t go dragging my name into a discussion I’m not a a part of.
That said let’s wait a couple of weeks here to get the results of playing against the “big boys” before everyone starts slurping each other off about the playoffs and worrying that Dave heads off to the NFL to replace Belichik.
And news flash: If we make the playoffs, or even come close to sniffing the playoffs, history would have us believe Dave is “peacing out”. Your own eccentric personal loyalty, dorton arena, statues coming down, marital troubles, etc, ain’t gonna be changing that.

I imagine they will exceed them but, given the uneven playing field, they have zero chance to win any titles.

I’m seeing Notre Dame with a -305 moneyline (meaning $305 to win $100 for the tea totallers). I’m quite tempted to drop $300 on the Irish to hedge my emotions for Saturday.
I think we over estimate the impact Game Day has on recruiting if it has any direct impact at all. We’ve had Game Day before and I don’t recall it impacting recruiting even slightly. Have we had a de-commit because Game Day helped someone else’s recruiting?
We’ve been on Gameday once in 2004 against #3 Miami. We lost. The following year the recruiting class was ranked #27 nationally in 2005. Tough to say if that one appearance had an impact then. One thing for certain, it sure as sh!t didn’t hurt. I’m sure a lot of them highschool fellers watch Gameday. We get a couple appearances on the show every now and again and it’s a nice feather in the hat to “floss”, esp. against when competing for recruits against other in-state schools.
Penn State at Ohio State.
Good news and bad news. Good because it’s an away game for us and would expect fans to really show up loud for Gameday. Bad because would be great to get some national press (could do wonders for recruiting).
So ND is #9 and we’re #14. Wonder if College Gameday goes to South Bend? Is there a bigger, better matchup next week?
Chop, I said it somewhat tongue in cheek. We get to play them at a real good time coming of a bye week while they are coming off a huge win. It sets up nice. However, make no mistake about it, you are right we haven’t played a team the caliber of the Irish to date. So nobody should be totally caught off guard if we catch a beat down.
