The ND defense had Finley way off of his game. Going against an good defense (which all NFL teams have better D than ND) and not being able to complete passes down field was exposed by ND yesterday and will absolutely hurt his draft stock. Let’s put it this way, I don’t want him on my favorite NFL team.

Still a bad play by Finley there; if he can’t get the ball deep enough there, he has to throw it out of bounds, free play or not. The idea of a free play does not mean you don’t need to take care of the ball.
No. Sorry man, but that’s just terribly false. A free play means there are NO consequences of a risky throw. Again, a free play means there are NO consequences of a risky throw. NO WAY that an official’s egregious bad call should be put on Finley. If you want to dog on Finley we can discuss how he’s not effective at passing down the field further than 10 yards, which was on full display yesterday.
Watch Dave’s post game conference. He believes they were offsides as well. Explicitly states it, as well as explicitly states Finely thought they were offside. Again, replay confirmed it. Went on to say he would tell the media what he really thought about the officiating if one of them would pay the fine for him.
Could not see lineman offside on interception, but line froze, why did Finley throw short?
His entire helmet was in the neutral zone. It should have been a free play. Finley knew it, the center knew it, the replay clearly shows it, not sure what else to say.

The hail mary shot was ruined by the missed offsides on the pick 6. We absoultely tanked after that blow. We were playing on their level right up to that “blown/ignored” call. I’m sick of our teams having to always “overcome adversity” of horrendous officiating calls in huge games, and I’m talking basketball & football.
Defense gave up 28 points on the road to a top #10 team. Nothing to complain about there IMO.
One thing for sure Finley’s NFL draft stock took a nose dive yesterday.
I say throw out everything that happened after the pick 6. We were going toe to toe in South Bend until the refs refused to call the offside and award us the free play. In all my years watching football I’ve never seen that before. That is a tall order to ask the kids to get back up after that certainly 7, possibly 14 point swing. I’m not even mad at ND trying to run up the score. They want to make the playoffs and a handy beatdown of a #14 opponent will look good on that resume.

win some you lose some, but damn what an awful way to lose. That phantom pick-6 (that counted) took the wind out of our sails. I expect Trump to tweet out something ridiculous about this in short order.
Pick 6 on non-call is game over. Playoff eliminator. Staff seemed content immediately after the play. What am I missing?
The missed offside is absolutely egregious. Why this was glossed over by the commentators and Dave just keeping the headset like nothing happened is unbelievable to me.
I feel like i’m in a dreamland dimension. How the F are we not out there protesting, taking a knee, looting, rioting, players running into the stands beating the fans, pissing on the flag and America about the officials giving away the game?
