ParticipantI said all year I thought the freshman bigs would be a force going forward. Nothing I saw down the stretch made me change my mind on that point.
Bold prediction – Frenchie averages in double figures and shoots over 70% from the line. What that young man did after not even turning 18 until December was remarkable. If he plays along side a slimmed down hippo he will cause all kinds of problems.
Note – Look at our projected rotation after losing half of a starting PG, starting C, and ACC POY. Gott has taken the first steps to building a quality program by developing some depth. I just wish he would recruit some more shooters.

ParticipantSad to see such a total lack of stones.

ParticipantI figured Herb made that statement from his daylight compartment. How could he honor the process otherwise?

ParticipantThis is correct. Same with McAdoo. McAdoo was projected as a lottery after his first year. Probably won’t be drafted now unless he has a monster season next year. Honestly, Meeks is going to eat his lunch. That kid is potential lottery material in a few years if he gets into better shape.
That is the most insightful comment in this thread.

ParticipantUVa is good enough to win the whole thing from what I have seen so far.

ParticipantHe learned from Pitino so the lie only lasted about 10-15 seconds

ParticipantI’ll be surprised if he stays even though his outside shot isn’t nearly good enough to play regular NBA minutes at the 3. He carried this year’s edition of the Wolfpack farther than I ever thought he could so I hope whatever he does works out for him. I just hope people will leave him alone and let him make the decision with his family. He seems like a really solid young man so I can only wish him the best.

ParticipantThe Big East is becoming very unattractive. This is a HUGE upgrade for Va Tech. The only question is whether or not he can recruit to Bleaksburg.

ParticipantI have Iowa State to Arlington. I know they are a three seed but they’ve gotten no love.
Note:with this post my mourning period has ended
Axe ‘Em Jacks! They look to be overmatched so far.

Rob Lowe may not have been emphasized in the scouting report. Without that surprise, we’re up double digits. We know what we gotta do. It’ll be fine.He was in mine. I can’t possibly be better at scouting a team than guys who get paid to?
Plenty of film on him

ParticipantWe are really struggling in the half court. Horrible spacing and no movement
Texpack
Participantso if somebody had run at Anya would he have just blown by them for the slam of the century?

ParticipantThey are trying to deny everything. We need to back door cut the daylights out of them.

ParticipantLooking forward to this one a lot. My guess is that Frenchy or KW guards the stretch 5. That has me a tad concerned. If Lewis plays like he did on Tuesday, we will be playing on Saturday.

ParticipantCollege basketball success is make up of three parts. Talented players who are taught the fundamentals, emotion and motivation. That is why Jim Valvano was so successful. If you ever saw any of his game specific practices you would have appreciated how underrated he was as an X and O guy. If you ever heard any of his practice closing or locker room speeches you would understand the emotion and motivation keys. So while the stats are nice the game Thur depends more on how Coach Gott keeps the team from believing the “trendy picks” and stay focused on playing their game. If they do that them the stats take care of themselves.
Some of my fondest memories of Reynolds were watching V run practice. I used to really be an X and O guy until clutch, grab, mug, and flop took away too much of the flow of the game. He was way smarter than a lot of people wanted to give him credit for.

ParticipantOk everybody….same EXACT clothing (assuming you were clothed) for Thursday. No washing, no ironing, regardless of the stench. This works, I swear. Survive, advance, stink worse, survive, advance……
I fished the shirt and gym shorts out of the hamper Sunday evening after we got the bid. That’s why we won last night.

ParticipantEverybody on the team should be proud of their performance. The minutes from Cat in the first half were important.
The game Lewis played tonight was what my generation grew up watching the great PGs do. Take care of the basketball, find the open man, run the team on the floor, and score when they dare you to. That was one of the best floor games I’ve seen a player have in a long time.

ParticipantThese are young guys. This travel is no big deal. Easy flights, only one time zone crossed.
Our freshman bigs, with Cat running the point in 2016. It’s gonna be special.
All eastern time zone.

Participantcan Archie recommend some restaurants?
Anya and Stainbrook can

ParticipantThat was a beautiful pick and roll. I saw that coming. Only a retired slow white PG can fully appreciate that.

ParticipantX is playing a lot better this half. We better get the offense going
