Maybe someone can explain why Yurt continues to play Defense at the top of the key only to get beat 80% of the time to the rim….. other than that, awesome first 25 minutes
One of the advantages of playing four guards and one big is switching everything. Yurt is getting in mismatches on the pick and roll. That’s why that is happening. There should be help rotating to pick up the driver.

That sums up my opinion of what they have accomplished to date, but there’s a lot of the season left.
We have to take care of the basketball. We’ve not done well against defensive minded teams other than the Orange. Need the home crowd to step up and make it a very hostile environment. 2-1 will likely get us the double bye. 3-0 and it’s a done deal.

Hokie loss was very good for us since we don’t own the tiebreaker with them.
Need Duke to take them down again and UVA to knock off Louisville. We have the tiebreaker over Klempson.Worst case is vacating last season. Something most of us wish we could do anyway. There is also a ver distinct possibility that the money went to his dad for AAU expenses. No big downside here for the Pack. People get put on probation for this stuff when somebody associated with the school is involved in the payments or when they happen while the kid is on campus. tOSU got nailed for the Tressel cover-up.
Sure looks like the Pack is in the Dance. About the only thing that could keep ’em out now would be to lose out and then lose out first game in the ACCT. Likely won’t happen.
ACC should get a boatload of teams in the Dance. Notre Dame has lost too many, and Syracuse shouldn’t make it either. I think 9 will go, and for those who think Duke is overrated, better think again. They can beat anybody even without Bagley. With him healthy, look for another Final Four by the Devils. UNC and UVA will likely be Sweet, and after that, I’m not sure about the ACC’s chances.
As for the ACCT, just get it over with and keep it out of NY forever. As for Louisville, yet another crown in John Swofford’s grand expansion cap. Can’t wait until the NCAA also lowers the boom on another former Big East team, Miami.
Beat GT and lose two at home and my sphincter will be tight enough to cut #4 rebar without two ACC tourney wins.
Torin Dorn works his tail off when he’s playing the 4, but we are going to give up some rebounds when he is playing the four and we have two PGs plus Al Freeman on the floor. We can put Frenchy in the game instead of one of the guards but we won’t likely make 8 straight 3s that way.
Al got going in the second half. Got some help from Dorn. We keep winning. Guaranteed.500 in the league. This is a weird team, but they have a chance to be a special team. I still can’t believe what they’ve done so far.

When you only play with one big you are vulnerable
To expand on that, there were 3 or 4 offensive rebounds that we gave up even though we had inside position. We were just at a 6″ height disadvantage. When you play small to pressure and shoot the three there is a trade off.
