ParticipantHess is working the SoCon final

ParticipantI can’t find where I wrote the quote attributed to me, but maybe I wrote that somewhere.

ParticipantFirst of all thanks to VaWolf for a season of sobering looks at the ACC.
The main thing that has killed the ACC the past few years is our crappy performance outside the league. It used to be that the entire conference would roll up wins outside the league which would give everyone’s RPI a boost.
I have to say I’m impressed that Gott continues to schedule aggressively. When your SOS number is in the 20’s you don’t have to apologize to anybody for your schedule.
One win is easy to see happening. Two wins is certainly possible, but I don’t think anybody is wiring money to Vegas to get down on us to make the semi-finals. Three wins and we are approaching CC Harrison territory.

ParticipantSo the press release that lists Warren on the first team shows his school as Maryland. UFB.

ParticipantAn up and down year ends with a .500 conference record. I wondered if TJ Warren could continue to score like he did last year without Wood, Brown, Leslie, and Howell around him. I guess I don’t have to wonder any more.
The losses to Miami, Wake, Mizzou, and Central did us in. The two close losses could have been overcome had we not screwed up those games.
I don’t like our chances of making it to Sunday, but with a player like Warren you always have a shot.
When is the POY announcement?
Texpack
ParticipantNot looking good. We are doing everything we need to to lose
Texpack
ParticipantDez with the obligatory stuffed shot
Texpack
Participant13-0 run jeeeez
Texpack
ParticipantJust win today.

ParticipantIt is interesting that the two strongest POY candidates aren’t among the Wooden finalists. Reminds me of the year O’Koren made first team AA and second team All ACC.
Texpack
ParticipantI would actually rank “End Of An Era” ahead of it as well.

ParticipantThe Golden Coral out by Mission Valley had a picture of Bo Rein right after he and Paterno shook hands after that game. The look on his face said it all.
Texpack
ParticipantVaWolf failed to mention the 4th and 38 conversion by Penn State to set up the 54 yd FG to beat us
We won the ACC but did not go to a bowl game
Texpack
ParticipantI had a National Championship in Basketball in ’83 and our most recent ACC Championship in football in ’79.
I also got to experience both Tom Reed and Monte Kiffin as football coaches.
Texpack
ParticipantI just hope the head injury is really a non-issue and he can play without doing damage to himself. Any “extra” player we can pick up is a plus.

ParticipantWhat Monday night means is that if we had shown up against Miami on Saturday we would be set for a 10-8 regular season with an RPI in the 50’s.. We’d have a legitimate shot at getting into the tourney. Hopefully we can start a roll with last night’s game and win 5 in a row.

ParticipantWarren took over the game last night like only a few State players. Performances like that justify this discussion. I hope he stays.
Texpack
ParticipantNice to see a good performance rewarded. Congrats to the team.
Texpack
ParticipantAnya needs a big boy basket support!!!
Texpack
ParticipantHow about the OB call on Lewis when he was 2? from the baseline?
They called a travel. Replay showed it was a good call.
Texpack
ParticipantThat last shot by Warren was ridiculous.
Texpack
ParticipantWe definitely don’t lose anything when Lee comes in off the bench.
Texpack
ParticipantRagged start to this half
Texpack
ParticipantOn form and rotation alone, Freman should be 65% from the FT line minimum. This has mystified me all year.
Texpack
ParticipantI’m not saying he isn’t our best option at times. That’s where I have to cut Gott some slack. He’s been trying to cover for the glaring weaknesses of whatever PG he has in the game. It’s the same at the SG.
