Maybe, Maybe not.
Another way to look at it is that as I argued several weeks ago, winning the first game in the expanded ACCT doesn’t get you anything. A loss to a bad team could be devastating to someone on the bubble….but there is no way that beating a bad team is going to be worth very much.
I was just thinking that with all of the bubble teams that lost yesterday, we might move up the list by default.. I didn’t expect much of a bump to our resume from a neutral court win over Da U.

After looking at things I would have called the Providence vs. St. John’s a preliminary play-in qualifier. This means the winner has a good chance, but may not yet be a lock.
The whole CUSA, Big East, AAC thing has my head ready to explode.
Wake vs Notre Dame. As a former preacher at our church once said, “As long as Baptists marry Catholics there will always be a need for the Methodist Church.”
Nice work. The unbalanced schedule really does make the conference standings a lot less meaningful to me. Who you get at home vs. who you get on the road is huge in my view. The chance to pick up road wins vs crappy teams is a hidden RPI booster.
I really liked the 8 team ACC with the Wake game ending the regular season every year. That’s how ACC Basketball is supposed to be.
I flew from Houston to Orlando during that game. I watched the selection show and found out that we had won before watching a late night replay that night on ESPN/ESPN2. I still have that game on VHS.
Congratulations TJ Warren! If he can add the Everett Case Award this weekend I will be very pleased.
