That was piss poor coaching decision there. Why not go for it, the punt netted 8 more yards and only 30 seconds left. Make the first down and least can try a fg. Stupid play and time calling.
The punt netted 20 yards. And it was very close to netting 39 yards.
That punt was ahead scratcher.
Going for it and not making it on 4th down would have given them the ball on the 40. Those extra 20 yards may be the reason they took a knee.
Then again, given they were going against the wind, it was a reasonable gamble to go for it. I can see both sides on that one.

Given the recent record between the two schools, Wake knows they can beat us, especially in their house.
State has won 3 straight and 5 of the past 7 games against Wake. Those 5 wins were by an average of 26.7 points per game. Both losses came at Wake, but State beat Wake by 18 points the last time they played at Wake in 2015.
None of that necessarily means a lot for tomorrow’s game, since Wake is arguably better this season than in any of those past seasons. But here’s the thing – so is State, and it’s not particularly close.
I think State wins this by 10+ points.
I don’t even see Finley as a first round pick, much less the #2 overall pick. That is a pretty lousy mock draft, with a G going #1, Derwin James, falling to #20, and Deon Cain a first round pick.

I’ve been twice, both in 2004. The first game was against the Yankees and was the Alex Rodriguez brawl game, in which the Sox hit a walk off homer off Rivera to win in the 9th. In the second later that year, the Sox his a walk off homer to win in the 11th. Delirium.

Two weeks in a row it feels like we got the raw end of the officiating, but in reality we just lost to two better teams.
Need at least one chunk play to get within Hail Mary distance. How about a hook and lateral play? Or something similarly creative?
Dabo should punt this out the back of the end zone to ensure no return. Then let his defense defend 80 yards against us with no timeouts.
Poor clock management late in this drive. Playcalling does not seem designed for the situation – it took 1:45 to run 5 plays after the Clemson timeout.

The defense has given up 409 yards and 31 points, and Clemson also missed a FG. That includes giving up 218 rushing yards, where rushing defense is supposed to be a strength. The defense has allowed Clemson to convert 3rd and 4th downs above 50% today (9/17).
Meanwhile, the offense has scored 28 points and gained 423 yards and counting against a top 10 defense in the country.
Both units have had mixed results, but, all in all, IMO the defense has been more disappointing so far.
Where was this offense in the third quarter? Glad it is back. Defense has got to stop the Clemson offense
Agree with punting here. Offense is out of sorts and the Clemson offense went through our defense like a knife through butter on that last drive. Need to avoid giving them the ball at midfield to help out the defense.
