If you build it, they won’t come. Trump/Sessions 2016!

Average season? Good grief, I quit watching weeks ago when it was apparent we sucked. I would say this season was a disaster after last season’s sweet 16 and Gott’s 4 year run. Yep, it could turn a disaster of a season into a disaster with a win over UNC-cheat.

Sign up the guy with the Afro. No takers on what’s wrong with BJ? As Trump says, “He’s low energy”. Unlock the dang frig again.

I’d rather follow a different men’s team than follow our women’s basketball team. No thanks. That’s not gonna cure your sports jones.

Is it just me or is Anya better off being heavier? Is he depressed? Why is he worse than last year?

I find the burned bridge theory dubious. I’d like to hear specifics. Logically if it’s a Herb thing, he wouldn’t have been wanting to come last search. If it’s an ego thing, well getting rid of DY would take care of that. Everyone has a price. Especially an alum.

Texas is not so much a juggernaut. Potential yes, but it’s still a football school. Lets not pretend he waited around for UNC/Duke/Kansas/Kentucky. REally who gives a flying you know what about college basketball in TExas. He could be 2nd fiddle there to a winless football coach.

If you could, what are the reasons BJD? Too much expectations (HWSNBN)? Too much close competition? Too cheap? Don’t like the town? What’s the problem?

seriously, I don’t see how exchanging Cat for DS is seen as a surefire upgrade…that’s an unknown. And you cannot expect anyone over 6’6″ improving.

I would hope with Arch if there is bad timing for his next stop, if he’s tearing it up at a non ACC power 5 he may at least give us a hard look if we came at him with both barrels. I would hope.

This team misses something that CAN”T be fixed. It’s depth. It’s the coach’s philosophy to only give 7 guys any run, therefore we can’t fill 12 scholarships. In a year where 3 guys leave unexpectedly we should still be able to go 9 deep easily. Tyler Lewis has been gone for 3 friggin years. WHERE’s the back up PG????? Even better where is NEXT year’s backup PG? Where’s the big man enforcer? Where’s the offense off the bench? Must haves for any legit team. This is basic scholarship management stuff.

Guy has like coached his whole life. I don’t see this crap changing in the future. Yes this job is hard, but fill up the freaking roster dude, Good Grief another year wasted on crap basketball

Look, the philosophy of having 7-8 players and the rest bench riders or walk ons is stupid in my opinion and has bitten Gott squarelyl in the arse this season. How can you expect to go through the season with 1 freaking guy at almost every position? You got to have at the bare miniumum 10 guys by YEAR 5 that you have no qualms about getting minutes. Yes, we could have had 10 this year with no transfers, but guess what…you have even more schollies to give to backfill any unforeseen circumstances. In this age you must plan for that crap anyway. Inexcusable STUPID roster management IMO. You can’t practice hard, you can’t play hard…simple as that. Something not right with this guy.

I think it was okay to go after Smart first. Worked out fine for Marshall too. Wasn’t Lon Krueger a name floated in the last search or two. Seems most guys we considered and either missed on or passed over are tearing it up now relative to what Gott has done. And he hasn’t exactly face planted. I hope we get a decent sense of his ceiling here within the next 2 years.

somewhat surprising Leslie could never stick…guess the combo of funky shot and poor attitude was too much. He sure was an athlete at his size and seemed for a while to be a sure fire NBA player.

And no, we aren’t viewed negatively. I do think coaching against Roy and K has its disadvantages. When and right before they leave is our time to strike. I don’t want to compete in a coaching search with them either.

I think we are positioned better than we have been in 25 years. Hopefully we should know if Gott will take the next step program wise in the next 2-3 years I would suspect. If the time comes to part ways, prospective hires would realize the run of 2 HOF coaches is closing. The time to hire a real homerun would be right before they leave. I just hope Brad Stevens stays put in Boston (wrt our 2 neighbors).

Look, you gotta pay somebody. Enough buildings already. We need to roll out the dough for a splash hire. If we absolutely can’t do that, we gotta churn faster. Waiting 5-7 years for a guy to “pan out” is too long. You hire the coach and win some games, the facility upgrades at that point are gonna happen

The bigger issue IMO, what gives with the recruiting? I could withstand a 5-6 win season next year if the prospects for rapid improvement were high. We need a splash hire for football to improve I’m afraid.

Get real bruh. This program has been sucking hind tit since the 70’s. Guy has a woeful conference record after year 3. What more is there to see? Year 4 is likely gonna be significantly worse. You gotta take some chances when you are as down on the pecking order as us. I would back channel all of the above. Even L-fed is dogging us staring at sanctions. We should be doing better.

I don’t give a rip about Gott. Just win baby. If we miss tourney 2 years in a row, it’s next man up. As long as he makes the occasional sweet 16 you can’t fire him though. I hope for everyone’s sake he advances further than that if he manages to get around year 10.
