StateFansKeymasterDon’t get me wrong — I LOVE Cutcliffe and agree that he deserves fantastic praise. But, some of the media fawning is just a little much and I couldn’t let it pass without taking a swipe.
StateFansKeymasterThis is very interesting and impressive.
Didn’t we just have a HUGE turnover on the squad with a lot of wrestlers leaving/transferring/not asked to return because of their behavior and not meeting Coach Popilizio’s standards?
Looks like ANOTHER impressive hire for this Athletics Administration.
StateFansKeymasterKeep on coming with the suggestions and observations.
StateFansKeymasterAs with Missouri on Saturday night, Warren was tired again in the final 25% of last night’s game when he scored just two of his 24 points in the final 10 minutes and 43 seconds. Nobody stepped up for the Pack as Desmond Lee’s dunk was State’s ONLY FIELD GOAL in the last 10:43 vs UNC-G.
Coach Gottfried is going to have to find a different way to manage this team or State will fall apart in conference play. I don’t know if means playing more zone and not exerting as much defensive effort (*things I never thought I’d say about a Mark Gottfried coached team*) or if it means a change in the substitution rotation. But, we seem to be witnessing a trend.
StateFansKeymasterThe Mizzou game was SO BIG for so many reasons — one of the biggest was how much a win (with Jordan Vandenberg in the line-up) would’ve stated the case that our two losses (that happened with Vandenberg injured) should be completely overlooked.
Why oh why did Bobby Lutz let Gottfried start talking to the team in the last five minutes of that game!?
StateFansKeymasterFrom Business Week magazine –
ESPN, Google and other ridiculous baby names
Just when you thought celebrities were the undisputed titleholders of “cruelest baby namers” around—see “Pilot Inspektor,” “Bronx Mowgli,” and “Audio Science”—BabyCenter released its annual list of the weirdest of the weird in American toddler monikers. On the male side, amid “Popeye,” “Burger,” and “Turbo,” the names of two companies cracked the list: “Google” and “Espn.”
For the survey, “nearly half a million” parents were asked the names of their newborns. In order to make the cut, names must be duplicated at least once. That means there are, at the very least, two infant Googles and two baby Espns living in America right now. (The former is slightly more believable because it’s an actual word, not an acronym, though “Eh-spen” does have a better ring to it than “Entertainment and Sports Programming Network.”)
StateFansKeymasterI watched the ESPN Gameday feature again this weekend that focused on the history of the signs at their Gameday broadcasts. The couple that named their first born ‘Espn’ is epic.
StateFansKeymasterWow…I had actually forgotten about that. Damn, I am getting old.
Tremayne was very supportive of coming to some events and reaching out When I was the NC State Club Young Alumni President in Raleigh in the mid 1990s. Couldn’t have been a better guy.
StateFansKeymasterI was hoping that Desmond Lee was going to be able to play this role on this team. To this point he isn’t generating quite as much offense as I was hoping expecting.
Ralston Turner has really come on over the last few weeks with much more confidence in his shot. But, at this point I think it is hard to imagine him as anything but a three point specialist (when he is hot). He doesn’t score in any other fashion and his defense is a liability to have him on the court in all situations.
StateFansKeymasterThis is a test to see how the site and the forums are syncing
StateFansKeymasterOne note to get you going — please note the ability to ‘TAG’ your posts. If you would take the extra 3 or 4 seconds to appropriately tag your comments then the usability of the forums will grow exponentially in the future.
StateFansKeymasterBecause Philip is getting up there in age and because Eli & Roethlisberger already have Super Bowls…I think I’ve got to put the Chargers first as Russell Wilson will have plenty of time in the future.
StateFansKeymasterThe more I realize that Mizzou’s strength is with three guards/wings, the more concerned I get about our depth issues if the refs call a tight game.

StateFansKeymasterWillie Taggart mistake fixed. So sorry. My bad
12/12/2013 at 9:42 AM in reply to: Barry Jacobs: “NC State’s Jordan Vandenberg emerges on the court” #34816StateFansKeymaster^This is my fear as well. In his three years on the court I am willing to bet you $100 that he has actually committed 50% of the fouls that have been called on him.
We all know that the ACC reviews ‘tendencies’ and sees them even when they don’t exist. So, if the refs TEND to call fouls on Vandy, then they then expect him to foul more.
02/08/2009 at 4:25 PM in reply to: ACC officials embarrass league, spark (Jamie) ‘Luckie’ comeback #35221StateFansKeymasterHow can you ‘fight through it’ when Ben McCauley stands straight up on defense and is bulldozed down only to be called for a foul that gives the Hokies a key three point play to tie the game?
What are the players supposed to do? Run off the court so that they won’t give the other team fabricated three point plays?
Is that ‘fighting’ through it?
