Frankly if we were not smart enough to put some gag language in his buyout then we deserve to let him run us down. Who didn’t see this coming? The guy has no morals or standards so to expect him to do anything but what he did is naïve at best. Maybe Yow thought their friendship would insulate her but that obviously is not the case. I am glad that POS is gone.

BJ is the only player Gott has had stay for his entire tenure. He should get some love if for nothing else putting up with the mess Gott has made.
Yeah, I heard last week that when the Martin twins left, they had nowhere to go. That just doesn’t happen, kids transferring blindly into the wilderness like that. “Program” kids, too. We should have known it was all irrevocably on fire then, but c’est la vie.
We probably ARE better off searching now, at least we have Markell and Kapita in tow (if they can be convinced to stay), and the timing is better for Arch (he would have wanted to coach this year’s roster).
If only someone had been talking about how bad the transfers were under Gott and that it was a bad sign of how he runs things. If only…
BTW no to Cronin. His teams play hard but he seems like a minor Sendek upgrade to me. Low risk and low reward.
Hopefully Grey’s predictions for next year are not accurate than his predictions for this year. I think it i accurate to day we would all love to see dd live up to Grey’s billing.
Gott deserves some thanks for making us relevant again…And showing that you can recruit, win and beat the blues at our place or theirs.
Roy is 29-3 against us so he may have beat them but it was very very rare.

My semi-educated read is that if we don’t get Arch it will be about (i) money; and/or (ii) the lack of professionalism in how we run things here.
If we lose him because of these reasons just blow up the friggin’ athletic department. Back up the truck and give him what he wants. If you can then make it an incentive driven contract. The kid is going to succeed and do it big time.
Also with regards to Archie being a HWSNBN protege – I would beg to differ mightily. The Miller dad is a long time well respected coach. Both Sean and Archie grew up everything basketball and made the most of their athletic careers despite not being exceptionally athletic.
They made it on smarts and playing like coaches. I think both have followed in their dad’s footsteps to the coaching ranks, teaching what he always taught. In summary I dont think anything Arch teaches comes from HWSNBN.
And Sendek was a Pitino disciple. I look at how they coach not who they learned from. You can learn a lot from Sendek and not be stuck in his same mold.
i cant believe there hasnt been an announcement that he is not coaching tomorrow. Rick, do you honestly believe Yow would let him coach tomorrow (against UNC of all people? Roy must be licking his chops).
I think they are denying this report. So yeah, it appears they are doubling down on stupid.
I’m halfway expecting a press conference to be scheduled today saying Gott has “resigned” effective immediately. I don’t see how he can go out there and coach anymore this season and have to answer all the questions surrounding his job.
I think thats a foregone conclusion at this point. I dont think Yow has the balls to trot him out there tomorrow night. Thats not going to do anyone good at this juncture.

Who does he think he is? They force people to buy tickets to years and years of lousy basketball with no way to get out because of the LTR. And since no one wants to watch a crappy team play the only recourse is to sell the tickets or at least give them to someone who actually wants to go. And then NCSU, in its infinite wisdom, calls them and tells them they should not do that. WOW.
