Gott left the program in bad shape. It will take some time to clean it up. Anyone calling for KK’s head this year is a fool.
Please note I said ‘so far’.
I hope/believe we will see a steady improvement in the defense. But I doubt we see that improvement in shooting.Positive

I’m pleased to have reached deity status on this board where an erroneous prediction is weighed against me in perpetuity.
That’s the way it goes. Some of the people giving you the most grief also have it to me about Gott. Whether you are right had still to be determined. If you are right they will forget everything immediately.

It is early and I would expect the team to improve. Hopefully substantially. Those are just my first impressions.Watching this game I am thinking it will be a long year. A little (a lot) worried about our ability to score.
I do like the hustle and effort. I think we have the right guy (though I am not a big fan of teams that rely on the press.)
I was more concerned about the defense. They hustled but the defense was not sound. Hopefully that works it’s way out as the year progresses.
Coaches get paid millions to win. It is certainly a legitimate measuring stick. ‘program building’ and ‘doing it right’ only goes so far.
Rick, The question was about how you like the new style (involving all the players). It isn’t measuring anything, just asking how you liked it.
Had you rather go to Chicago or New York? The answer, “I’d rather go by bus.” Doesn’t fit the question. Neither do the answers to Bill’s question fit his question. Perhaps the question was too complicated.
The hustle is great. We haven’t seen that in many years.
However in five years if he is not winning the style won’t matter.

Bill, Check the “?” I was wondering about people who had to wait 2 months to tell if they liked the “New Look” Keatts style basketball. I guess they can only tell by looking at the W/L record.

It’s interesting that many of the people who defended Gott also praise DD for ‘doing things the right way’ cuz Gott was as dirty as they come.

We are a frustrating team to watchI’m glad they held off on Doreen’s extension. This season will end with a big fat suck! This defense is way overrated and the play calling is sh&t.
The last two loses are on the linebackers and the offense not moving the chains.

I got this feeling that our new Coach and his crew are going to exceed most everybody’s expectations…
As for football… I’m convinced that this Team will not quit and will ‘leave it all on the field’ and we’ll be damn proud of them regardless of their final W-L record….
I imagine they will exceed them but, given the uneven playing field, they have zero chance to win any titles. It’s hard for me to enjoy something that is rigged. Maybe I have been too hard on the basketball coaches in the past given what obstacles they faced. Well except Gott.
And yeah, I agree about the football team but would like to see a good W/L record as well.
