RickKeymaster
Two articles, one with three comments another with a dozen or so. Nobody but State fans care.
The statement was “nobody is paying close attention”. Two articles from major publications certainly says someone is paying attention.
Now whether anyone cares is certainly debatable.RickKeymasterBig picture, nobody is paying that close attention to who NC State hires as an assistant in the offseason except us.
Exactly.
I guess. Hopefully he does decide to come.

Refresh was needed. He’s looking around, has been for years. Keep him working for us until he finds his spot. Move forward with our own needs. Win-win.
The whole thing has the appearance, rightly or wrongly, of the keystone cops.
He’s leaving. No he’s not. He’s being demoted so we can bring in coach X. Coach X says he is not coming. Limbo…..Agreed that shaking things us is a must. I would say it is rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic but he brought in a very highly thought of assistant. If he can bring in another that lends some “turning things around” feel to the program.
I think he has a typical Gott year next year followed by another dumpster fire the following.RickKeymasterThe only thing about moving Lutz to the Assistant to the assistant deputy southeast region assistant athletic director is if we had a coach ready to take his place. I wonder if Dooley gave us the Heisman.
RickKeymasterBut we have to do SOMETHING to recruit enough bodies to have a team for next season (and even more so for 2017-18).
Yeah we currently have 7 maybe 8 players for 16-17 and only three for 17-18. So you are right, someone needs to do something.
RickKeymasterFresh blood has to be a good thing.
RickKeymasterPastner has established recruiting contacts in the Atlanta area. Going to be a struggle starting out.
As we know, it’s more than just recruiting. I don’t think Partner is a good in game coach.
RickKeymasterThanks bill. Makes sense, I guess.
RickKeymasterRick, Just to clarify: I wasn’t complaining…remember I said “just wondering”
This is my favorite website and I appreciate all the time and effort you guys put into making it happen.
I was just trying to explain how I found the messages. It was not meant to call you a complainer.
RickKeymasterI can see why people were so up in arms. I found an area marked “pending” and there are a large number of posts there. I am going to add them back but they will probably be out of order. I am not sure why the forum software would have sent them as pending but it appeared to
RickKeymasterI went and checked and there are a fairly large number of posts in the “pending” area. I am going to try to add the ones that are recent back in.
RickKeymasterWhen you only have 3 recruits in two years and 3 players a year leaving early, it puts you in a shortage of players.
Right now for 17-18 we have Dorn, Kirk and GFK? That can’t be right.RickKeymasterSo let’s get this right:
Abu told staff he was likely 2 and done.
Anya and Freeman are gone after this year as 4 year players
There are no other bigs on our rosterWhat about this scenario, Abu goes pro and Frenchie has to redshirt because of the stress problems. Anya as our only big man.
RickKeymaster20 plus years and still they don’t have a legitimate NCAA title. This was the best of all possible outcomes…with them coming so, so close and having it yanked away. So perfect, so fitting, and so deserved. Cheaters, in the end, DO NOT WIN!
Agreed. I have their hearts ripped out is the best outcome. However, it also depends on what happens to Roy. I agree with Bill in that I thought Roy retired if he won it. I know people say he is not a great coach but the results speak for themselves. I would love to see him retire for “health” reasons.
RickKeymasterCoach Rick…
where’s my f’ing post I just submitted ????I didn’t touch it
RickKeymasterI’m going to try this again… (Stay away Rick. This time it’s being screen shot.)
I believe that some of you have been conditioned so badly, that UNx’s own PR team couldn’t have managed better.
Besides, ‘Nova walks away with this thing, anyway.
You can screen shot anything you want. If you insult someone I will delete it.
I sm sick of arguing with you about it. This is the last time I respond to you. Follow that simple rule and you won’t hear from me.RickKeymasterLots of kids look at that decision every year and decide to take another year in college. We have kids that should be making that decision and are not
That’s the crux of the argument.
RickKeymasterYea I had the same issue, Ply. A friend speculates that he’s so smug bc the NCAA has framed the violations as pertaining to the University, not the athletics program. But I find that argument very flimsy. Seems like a slippery slope . . . .
If that is their finding every university should set up a degree to keep their players eligible. As long as you let one or two students in you would be fine. It would be the death of the “student athlete”.
Frankly, I expect something like this though.RickKeymasterProblem Got has is almost Zero player development, especially in the low post position. They come in with potential and leave about the same as when they arrived. Some of the guys with real talent naturally improve with more playing time but even those few exceptions are guards.
Abu is better. Washington improved. Vandy got vastly better. Howell got better.
I’d post stats to prove it, but I’m too lazy.
I thinks its hard to predict either way. It does seem teams with lower rated recruits seen to do better than us. Heck even the two incoming transfers were not particularly highly rated recruits but seem to have been developed well.
RickKeymasterAnd every post you call posters Carolina fans because they disagree with you will continue to be deleted.
RickKeymasterAll you doubters may want to bookmark this entry.
MBB – 3 or 4 year postseason ban Scholly loses cover that same period
WBB – 3 or 4 year postseason ban Scholly loses cover that same period
FB – 2 or 3 year postseason banAlmost every victory covered by the NOA (2002-2010) gets vacated for these three sports as well as other minor sports
I hope you are right and will admit I am wrong if this happens. I just don’t see it. The NCAA even timed this so UNC could make this run at a title. Why would they help an organization they are about to hammer?
RickKeymasterWhat a tale of two schools. We knock a team out of the tournament last year. This year they are in the championship game and we are 13 in the ACC.
RickKeymasterI hope this means something actually happens to them. I am not convinced shutting meaningful will.
Interesting the timing on the investigation being done in a ‘few weeks’ very convenient.
RickKeymasterThe “close friends” also stated that the Martins were promised MORE PT
This us what I alluded to in an earlier post there had to be a reason we area seeing so many players leaving. To brush it off with ‘better players coming in’. Bring misled about playing time names sense.
RickKeymasterIn a “Way Too Early” look at projected ACC starting lineups, Joe Giglio has us in the bottom 1/3 tier, and finishing 11th in the ACC. If that happens, it won’t be good for anyone.
When we squeak into the tournament we can be happy we ‘beat expectations’.
